I know this seems a little random for this section, but I really wanna know what happened here. I mean, when I was a kid, I remember getting up on Saturday mornings to watch Animaniacs, Batman, Spiderman, Tiny Toons, Recess, etc. Now there's hardly any cartoons on, and they're all icky. My apologies for anyone who likes these shows, but I just think they're not all that great... Spongebob, Dora the Explorer, The Replacements, Emperor's New Groove (TV series, the movie was really good), etc.
So what happened there? We had good shows that had lessons, good animation, and entertaining story lines. Now it's like... blah. What happened? Any ideas? Thoughts? Comments?

I remember when I was a kid I used to watch Ren & Stimpy, Doug, Rugrats, Rocko's Mondern Life, AAAAH! Real Monsters, Animaniacs, Batman, Superman, X-Men, Tiny Toons, Freakazoid, Waynehead, and Earthworm Jim on Saturday Mornings. Yeah, those were the days.

God, I miss those good ol' days.:(

Those live shows on TV (like Smile on BBC) with the cartoon shows inbetween?
    Those were the days....

Also, I remember the times where I wanted to be on 50/50 and Jungle Run so bad... *random xD*

Part of the reason is because, when people started using computers for just about every single thing, they found they could make cartoons much faster and easier, that they just plain didn't care how much detail was put into it anymore and didn't even try. It all could've been better if they put in more of an effort, but they just...stopped.

    Sad but unfortunately very true.

I remember the days when I actually liked to wake up on a Saturday morning but that ended somewhere around the start of the new century.

Well Cartoon Network sucks now and plays really immature cartoons anymore since they did away with all the old ones. Same thing with Nickelodeon. Now on ABC Kids and stuff, all they play is shows from Disney Channel. Basically, they don't really play cartoons on Saturday mornings anymore and if they do they're really stupid, immature ones.

I think cartoon network's starting to realize how bad it's getting, because on Friday, I saw that it was playing an older episode of Johnny Bravo.

I was a kid watching Pokemon Damnit and I still try to wake up at 6 in the freaking morning just to watch Pokemon.

Well, I guess they decided that perhaps since they've lost a lot of support from the older fans, they decided to return to its old roots with Looney Toons, Johnny Bravo, and Justice League now. So, that's good news for us.

It depends on the stations. Alot of the older stuff has gone to different sitations. I still see Ren and Stimpy on CN though, but of course early in the morning. Dexter, Johhny Bravo, Power Puff girls, still on CN, but have moved to Boomerang. Regular Batman is still on the Disney channel they call it Disney GX I think or something like that.

I remember the Super Mario Bros series more though and Captain N.

As do I, same goes for Sonic The Hedgehog, you know the one that was on UPN then moved to USA afterwards. The older version where Dr. Robotnik kept saying, "I Hate That Hedgehog." every time.
