Yeah I was just wondering who was taking them/has taken them/ and what they got on them xD

Im taking them again in June, on the 7th or something. I took them last year when I was in 7th grade, and got a 500 on math, and a 510 in reading. But that was in 7th grade with no prep what so ever <.>

    So yes, discuss :3

i did this last year, but you're taking this in 7th grade? wow that's pretty early. didn't you have to also take the essay portion? anyways, i took it like 5 times, lol. the best i ever scored on them was 1650 total which meaning in each area i scored 560 (there were 3 sections). which is a terrible score btw. and that was AFTER i spent months studying hard for it, lol. but meh, i got in a good college so it's all good.

i heard that one was easier, is that true?
actually the essay is the easiest part. i got 9 or 10 each time :D the easy way is to make a 5 paragraph essay (do it FAST). be concrete with your evidence, do NOT address the counter arguement (they consider that off-prompt for some reason), and my BIGGEST thing:

ALWAYS find a way to include Martin Luther King. i worked him in in EVERY essay and it turned out to be PERFECT becuz of it, everyone knows who he is, his struggles could be releated to many of the topic choices, and using historical references just makes your essay look overall better :)

HOw the hell is that offtopic? XD

And I learned alot more about history in this last year :) I have also become an expert on Cuba ....lol

I think my teacher told me that if you dont answer a question, it doesnt count against you, but if you answer a question WRONG, a point is taken off <> Is that true?

Well, I've heard the scoring is different, as well as how they take the tests...that, and I know nothing about SAT, so...yeah.

i wish i knew, i remember i DID address the counter arguement and pretty much undermined it completely. but i got a 4 and i read the online explantion and they explained that i scored low becuz i went off prompt and i was like "WTH"

YES that is COMPLTELY true. you can omit (not answer) a question and just leave it blank and it won't hurt you. HOWEVER, it will not help you either, you will not gain points. but if you answer wrong you lose 1/4 points i believe. but to REALLY rack up your score, don't guess UNLESS you can narrow it down to TWO choices, if you don't get it down to that amount it really isn't worth guessing.

i still wonder how some ppl could get a perfect score tho, one my friends got a perfect score on the SAT and she got into Yale but not Harvard like she hoped so i made fun of her the entire year by calling her "Yale" everytime, lol. she isn't even that smart and she got a frickin perfect score

WTF Rosey... honestly why the hell are you taking it so young? D:
I mean... it can help you improve but... lol. XD

Anways... I'll probably take the SAT this year. I took the PSAT in November, I thought it was pretty simple for someone who didn't bother to prep for it at all like they wanted us to. Just the timing KILLS me, yes I swear I am OCD with making sure everything works out perfectly. I'll constantly go through a section over and over checking everything like three times just to make sure it is, indeed, right. X3 (They gave us all like a practice for the practice... >>; I never opened the thing)

In th PSAT they don't really give you a solid score it's more like a percentile of how much better you did than all the others taking it. Oh, and you don't have an essay on the PSATs you only get to try out the boring multiple choice parts for math, reading, spelling/grammar type of thing. <_> Overall I think the PSATs are a crock of ****, but if you take it your junior year in the fall and you score at a certain percentile it makes you eligible for some scholarships. <---- srsli the only reason why you should bother with them.

She is smart to start practicing early.

SATs are a load of bull; what is the point of a standardized test that expensive prep classes TEACH you how to take? Where is the demonstration of intelligence in that!?

I'm doing both SATs & ACTs.
I scored very highly on my ACT (first one) and those are harder than the real ACTs so I am happy. It was a high enough score for UVA, which really surprised me. That is with bombing the science portion because I had never seen those type of problems in my life before.
SATs, don't know + don't wanna know. The math really brings me down. I got one of those books to help me out. I'm taking one in May :'P

i recently took the SAT.. er... the one that was in march 3rd... my 1st time and my lazy ass didn't prepare for it... and still i somehow managed a freakin 1978... O_O
i donno how the hell i got that.. but my school requires for me to take it twice... so i'm stuck taking the may 3rd test as well... then also my school is making all the students take 2 subject exams... which i will be taking in... June... O.o i pick English Language and Biology.

but i suppose that it's smart for you to take it early.. the more experience you have on it, the better you will do. =]
    good luck!

    Taking them so early...?

I took a Practice SAT last year (9th grade), and I took another one this year. Last year, I was all happy, 'cuz I got a combined score of somewhere just above 1700, which was higher than 70% of the people who took it that were in my same grade. I guess it was just a bad day for them. This year, I scored lower (it pissed me off, because it seemed like 3/4 of the test was stuff I learned last year, and was never taught/discussed again this year. I had no clue what I was doing almost the whole test during the math portion.), and I was really mad. Then, I checked the bottom right corner, and it said I scored higher than 68 of my classates. So, at least I didn't drop my average to much. My actual score was like, 1600. I'm not too worried about it, however. I'm not really expecting to get into some big university. Just a little technical institute would be nice.

yea i thot that was pretty young too, but i'm a little disappointed in myself, a 7th grader almost scored as high as how much i scored in the 12th grade, lol. but yea the higher you score the better, so just get experience and do well!
congratulations, you've already surpassed my score :D the best i ever did was 1650, and that was me at my best, haha.

I took it in 7th and 8th grade...I don't remember my grades, but I think I got 6/12 the first time and 8/12 on the second time on the essay (which I kinda BS'd), uh...math was like...500 and then 510, and verbal was 610 and then 620-ish. I think.

    Don't remember. xDD
    Good luck, though, Rosey. =D

Its not a bad score, the average score is in the 1550's.

All I did was take the PSAT the year before I took the SAT, and I took the SAT itself only once. Why is everyone taking it in middle school though?

    I took it in middle school because I have a crazy Asian parent. >_>;;
And also it prepares you for when you take it seriously to get into college, as you know what to expect.

I see, makes sense. I didn't even consider the SAT until high school. >.< Never taking it again either. Though it would have been a good idea to prepare for it better.

And yes, after you take the test your inbox gets flooded with stuff from other colleges, colleges you never HEARD of, or consider going to.
