Just heard about this. This seems kind of rumory and suspicious at the moment. I'm going to wait a bit before I believe this.
Wow this just game out of left field. So damn sudden. I thought it was a hoax at first until I sat the many reports saying so. Still...what a loss. RIP Mr. Iwata
Wow, I know some people may not think so, but I consider 55 rather young these days... Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata.
He worked on Earthbound, Balloon Fight, and some Kirby, Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing titles. But he's really better known as CEO and president of Nintendo. I'm...This was totally unexpected. I mean, yeah, we knew he had health problems recently, but still... This is just really crappy. People I admire seem to be dropping left and right this year. :c
The gaming industry has lost a great man today. Iwata was a gamer at heart, always seeming to be having fun whether it's on the Nintendo Directs or speaking to an audience at E3. It's rare to see other CEOs with the same cheerful attitude. RIP Iwata
Very sad news. Got to me. Its a little sad, with the whole E3 thing, I hope he died knowing that he was something great. Rest in peace Satoru Iwata.
Damn, this is a heavy loss. I sense Nintendo's future becoming dimmer, but still, what a legacy he left behind. RIP Satoru Iwata
I may not have played his games... or even too much Nintendo games, but I see that he is a huge figure in gaming history, and it saddens me for him to go too soon. May he create new games in the afterlife. Sayonara... Iwata Satoru....
Until a new president is chosen, Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda will be running Nintendo. Many are considering Miyamoto to be the frontrunner for taking the position.
I saw this yesterday but I couldn't type properly through my tears. I know it's kind of silly to cry over someone I didn't know, but this man was wonderful. He crafted most of my childhood! He debugged Super Smash Bros. Melee so it could come out on time, he compressed Johto in Pokémon Gold and Silver so Kanto could fit on there and we could have 16 badges (those are actually my favorite Pokémon games), and he just... He believed in people. He believed in Sakurai while he worked on Smash, and he believed in the Wii U and 3DS, but when they were suffering, he cut his salary in half so no one else would have to. I feel like I've lost someone close to me even if I never met him, and Nintendo Directs will be hard to watch for a while. May he rest in peace. He truly made a huge difference in my life. Also thanks for wave dashing in Melee. It's super fun to troll with.
