SAO OOC: Summon Arc Online Out of Character

Welcome to the world, my world, a world of heaven, hell, and middle-earth. This world is now your home. My name is <<Creator>>. I'm glad you have all bought this game and have logged in. However, a feature was added to this game. Much like the incident of <<Sword Art Online>> created by Akihiko Kayaba, you are all now trapped here until you beat this game. However, unlike him, I will not tell you the path to victory. You will have many tests to be brought in front of you, and if you don't win, you will die. This is just like you are thinking, if you die in this game, your real body will also perish. I am aware many of you are wearing the Amusphere, a device that is to eliminate such a threat, however just by installing this game, a virus has infected your Amushphere and will deactivate the protective features. This will also activate if removal of the device is done on the outside.

Let me tell you some of the features to this game. There is an ailment that I have included to make blood loss all the more effective. If you are hit by any weapon, you will begin to bleed until treated or your <<Self Repair Skill>> kicks in. The blood loss will drain your health and depending on the wound, it will be a slow decrease or a rapid decrease.

As for the weapons of this game, I wanted to include some variety from many VRMMOs. This weapon will eventually evolve after you have gifted enough experience into it. The list will be as followed:

Now that you know about the weapons and what they can evolve into, allow me to tell you about the races and magic of this world. You see, unlike the popular game, <<Alfheim Online>> (ALO), there are only four classes in this world. These classes all have specific magic to them. Allow me to discuss this now.

Great, now you know the weapons, the magic, and the classes that exist in this world. Now you are probably wondering what is exactly in this world and what creatures you will face. To begin, this world appears very Biblical but at the same time not. There is a heaven, a hell, and a land between the two. Heaven is home to the angels and their gods. Hell is a multi-layered place filled with demons and their king. Each realm only gets harder and harder the further you descend. The between world, Middle Earth, is where you will begin and figure out how to beat this game. This land is also home to creatures such as Orcs, Ogres, Goblins, and fearsome other creatures.

(For more detail, the world has a large mountain in the center that is the gateway to heaven via climbing. There are caves that descend into hell. The Middle Earth is around this large mountain. There is only one large city which is located in the south. The rest of the world is split into a large forest in the east, a large desert in the west and a large ocean in the north. AH! I have forgotten the most important part about this world that is unlike the rest. When you log in, the game required you to pick a character. This character is known as a Summon. You only get one summon in the game. They are warrior from heaven that will aid you to victory. These warriors are well known in the real world. Only one was given out per person. It was the first come first serve system. Heroes like King Arthur or even Alexander the Great have been distributed out.

The summons are however unique. They are your partners until the end. They fight alongside you in battle and have their own HP. If they die, you die too. They will only come out during battle so you do not need to worry about them being with you all the time. There is a menu to edit their equipment as well.

So... let's talk about you for a moment since I've been doing all the talking. Like Sword Art Online, your appearance here is based on your real world self. There are no exceptions to the matter. I'm sure to look over the information after this meeting...

  Bio: Sylar was a hacker. A cheater. He always looked for loopholes within games, including VRMMOs, being able to hack in and out in 10 minutes or less without getting caught.
  But when Sword Art Online came out, Sylar had to try it. Try to cheat his way for bragging rights in the ultimate new VR game. But as soon as he logged in and about to log off, he soon realized the grim reality of the SAO incident. Time and again, he tried and tried to break the system, but the fear of death held him back. He gave up and focused mainly on honing his skills. He soon found himself a guild, and a girl, and for some moment, Sylar forgot about escaping. That is, until the Laughing Coffin Guild led Sylar's group into a trap. Sylar escaped alone. Enraged, he honed his skills simply to kill anyone that held the Laughing Coffin's logo, earning him the title Reaper of the Coffins.
  Even after the SAO Incident, Sylar never forgot his losses, and his pain. He jumped straight back into hacking full-time, having no regard for those who were in his way. He gained the recent interest in GGO, occasionally messing with his hack codes, then back tracking out, and has been tracking certain guild members of Laughing Coffin ever since.

  Bio: Cassandra at school is not a popular girl. She is not without friends, but equally she is not the popular one. In many ways, she is the odd one out as while in her school there are other gamers she is one of the few that dabbles in VRMMOs largely due to most people not having them. Many said they were too expensive and others simply preferred to play other games, which she could understand. Mostly, she plays with her two closest friend Kieron and Jessica. They played together at all times, being an inseparable trio. They levelled and raided together in Gun Gale Online, being attracted by the promise of gunplay as she had long preferred the idea of a First Person Shooter to a sword swinging contest. As such, she was suitably mortified when the girl wielding the purple Beam Sword went on to compete in the Bullet of Bullets. After watching that, her friends were immediately attracted by the idea of wielding melee weapons but the metagame of GGO made the tactic completely unviable (Further demonstrating the skill of <<Kirito>>). Seeking a new experience, Kieron and Jessica found Summon Arc Online and hastily bought their own copies. Wishing to play, Cassandra followed suit and entered the game...

He has been a long veteran of VRMMOs and has sought to find the very best VRMMO. Indeed, he tested Sword Art Online when it first entered beta but was stopped from buying the full game by his parents because the beta distracted him too much from his studies. By the time the exams were done, the game had already began and he was left out, wanting to be inside and to live the life that the players lived.   Bio: Kat is an actress and a roleplayer, often finding herself absorbed into RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons or MMORPGs. That being said, when Sword Art Online came out she had really wanted to play it but found out about the death game and grew a fascinated interest in all the stories behind it. However, when other VRMMOs came out, her parents refused to let her play them, even with the new Amusphere technology because they were afraid a repeat may happen. When she got into college she saved up enough money for her own Amusphere and copy of the new game and was excited to plug in and delve into the world immediately as the type of character she wanted to play... which she did.

  Bio:Samantha lost her older brother to the game Sword Art Online less than a month before it ended. After that Samantha promised herself that she would stay clear of any video games at all, proclaiming they were all evil, especially after seeing how hard the loss of her brother was on their family. The strong relationship she once had with her parents was gone. In their grieving they locked her out of their lives instead of drawing her closer for comfort. Instead focusing on their jobs to get them through the hard times.
  
  Eventually Samantha's curiosity grew on what made her brother so attracted to VRMMO's. It had been long enough since an incident that Samantha was starting to believe that they were really safe. The GGO incident had her on edge, but after extensive research into that she figured that her families home in a small village wouldn't make them a good target, after all it wasn't just out of the way of most people, but well guarded as well. Samantha's family was wealthy and her father head of a major company, however that being said, living in a city made them a target for violence and crime, so her father found a way to monitor and run his company from elsewhere, where his family would be safe and protected. However the protection went so far as to lock her and her brother Seth in a lot of the time, meaning they only had each other for company. With him gone and her parents pushing her out, should couldn't help but reach for the gear that had killed her brother, entering a new game that she found online.
  
  Samantha was still very scared going into the game, but she had to know what her brother loved about VRMMO's, so she forced herself forward into creating a character, the name a tribute to her brother. She decided to choice a Reaper class due to the healing quality. If something did go wrong then maybe she would be able to save people by healing them. She could fix them. Then no one would die like Seth did. She would save everyone she could. After all she had never wielded any sort of weapon before so she would be kind of useless there.

  Bio: Lucas hates the real world. He hates it for killing his mother in a horrible car accident. He hates it for allowing his father to marry such an entitled b*tch who simply uses his father for money and could care less if he existed. He hates it for allowing him to be riddled with cancer. He hated it for everything. When Virtual Reality became a thing he didn't hesitate to spend all his carefully horded money on the system and the new game Sword Art Online, that would allow him to escape his hell hole of a life. When he got trapped in the game, he was not concerned about the game killing him, instead his step mother. He was convinced that she would convince his father that maintaining his cancer treatment when he was in such a state and likely to die anyways would be useless, and that he should save the money. He thought that one day he would fade from the game as his body gave out due to lack of any sort of treatment. This however didn't come to pass, he made it though SAO, and lived, with his cancer treatment still going despite the uselessness of the situation or so it seemed.
  
  Despite the events of SAO Lucas continued to buy and play every VRMMO that he came across, strengthening every character he got to the highest he could. Strength in the game to make up for his failing strength in reality. He was able to spend more and more time in game as his sickness made it so he couldn't work or really do anything. If he wasn't in a hospital bed, he was at home in bed, resting is what the doctors called it, but he knew the truth. Lucas was just waiting to die. Waiting till the day that the doctors exhausted the last option or his father ran out of money and he died. But that no longer mattered to him anymore. What mattered to him was his avatars, his characters, his life he built inside the videogames. One that no one knew about his sickness or his crap life, or anything. He was someone completely new. That being said there was nothing stopping him from buying Summon Arc Online and starting it immediately.

Bio: Sylar was a hacker. A cheater. He always looked for loopholes within games, including VRMMOs, being able to hack in and out in 10 minutes or less without getting caught.
But when Sword Art Online came out, Sylar had to try it. Try to cheat his way for bragging rights in the ultimate new VR game. But as soon as he logged in and about to log off, he soon realized the grim reality of the SAO incident. Time and again, he tried and tried to break the system, but the fear of death held him back. He gave up and focused mainly on honing his skills. He soon found himself a guild, and a girl, and for some moment, Sylar forgot about escaping. That is, until the Laughing Coffin Guild led Sylar's group into a trap. Sylar escaped alone. Enraged, he honed his skills simply to kill anyone that held the Laughing Coffin's logo, earning him the title Reaper of the Coffins.
Even after the SAO Incident, Sylar never forgot his losses, and his pain. He jumped straight back into hacking full-time, having no regard for those who were in his way. He gained the recent interest in GGO, occasionally messing with his hack codes, then back tracking out, and has been tracking certain guild members of Laughing Coffin ever since.

Samuel was born into a well-off family. Both his parents had full time jobs and earned enough money that they could afford many luxuries and things other people had never experienced. From when he was born until he was the age of five, Samuel was well-taken care of and had never experienced loss of any kind.

This changed on the day of his fifth birthday. On that day, in the middle of the celebration he was having dinner with his parents, his mother received a call. The results of a scan she had had the month before had finally come back; his mother had a brain tumour that was in a location too dangerous to remove from, and had breast cancer on top of that.

It was then that life turned around for Samuel. He no longer had wealth, he no longer had every toy a kid could dream of, all the money his father made was spent on basic needs for the family and Samuel's mother's medication.

His misfortune did not end there, however. The child started school, and all through the first stage of schooling everything was normal, or at least as normal as they could be. However, he became bullied day in and day out by most people at school. Being emotionally unstable as he was, he was an easy target; and people loved reminding him of this.

Samuel found comfort in the form of a new game that came out. It was called Sword Art Online, a game he had tested a couple of months beforehand. He remembered it, it was fun. Taking out aggression, killing off players' characters in it, it was certainly a change of pace for him. So he got involved with it, and he joined up with a guild called the Blackrose Legion. He began missing days of school every so often so he could spend the time assassinating players, relieving himself of anger and helping him to forget about his mother.

Eventually, Samuel's lust for blood began to fade. Slowly but surely, the killer inside of him vanished. He started thinking of his victims, of what things would be like for them. Sure, he had a rough life, but did that entitle him to take others'? For all his skill at the game, for all his sorrow, that gave him no right to play god. Immediately after this personal breakthrough, he hung up the guild's cloak and quit, determined to make amends for all the lives he had taken.

Soon afterwards, the game was beaten and Samuel was freed, and he was welcomed back by both his parents through tears and vows to never lose him again. At last, Samuel felt like he was home.

Time went on, and Samuel was transferred to a special school for the survivors of SAO. There he had a new start and actually made quite a few friends, but he could never truly be at peace with them. These people were all so friendly, had the victims of SAO been like that too? Had he killed people that would have been his friend? This guilt ate away at him, and only intensified two weeks later when his mother suddenly passed away. Just like that, all his hard work had been undone, and just like that he found himself becoming addicted to online gaming once more, joining the VRMMO Gun Gale Online.

He was a natural at the game, using his swift reflexes to pull off impressive shots with just a pistol, but it was when he used the beam sword he really shined. Foes would laugh at him, but he would take them down quickly. Of course he had to play it smart though, more often using cover to get close to his enemies where they would be beaten. However, due to the amount of battles he got into, he was never able to enter the big tournament and thus never got the opportunity to confront the best player in the game.

Once Death Gun was taken out, Samuel found himself not wanting to play as much. Without the thrill of a challenge it wasn't as good. He logged in every once in a while, but for the most part he stayed away. And then he saw Summon Arc Online. The gameplay looked appealing from the trailers, and it reminded him very much of Sword Art Online, which in itself hurt him but at the same time reminded him of all he had learned there. He decided to sign up and give it a try. After all, surely after the SAO incident the government would never make the same mistake twice, right?

Bio: Masaru is a SAO Survivor and decided to take time away from VRMMO's until he was given ALO by his sister Misaki with an Amusphere to which he accepted as she wanted to play with him and so he did to make up for the time lost in SAO, when he heard of Summon Arc Online, he couldn't help but feel intrigued by the concept as it was different to SAO and ALO with a Summoned Hero and so he decided to give it a go.

Physical Skill: Le Feu du Jeanne d'Arc - La Pucelle sets alight as a reminder of the unjust way she died in life. It deals fire damage in addition to her normal attacks.
Magical Skill: Battle Prayers - Joan can say a prayer to the Lord for His favour in the coming fight providing her the prayed for individual gain a 50% attack bonus.
