Thoughts? Are these companies playing the market smart? Or are they making some very big assumptions?

Well, this is to be expected. I don't care what you say, but right now the PS3 sucks. I'm not saying it will always suck, as FF13 is coming out for it and other stuff like that, but in all honesty I am not surprised that the Wii is dominating it.

I'm kinda sad about the game cuts though.

It just proves Square Enix are always going for the winning consoles, and it's going to be funny how they can make RPG's for the Wii, this is going to be intresting, but they should of chosen the Xbox 360 because it's at the top.

Edit: Sqaure just can't be trusted sometimes.

Hmm, well, I think I'd actually rather them not make stuff for the PS3. It's cool and everything, but I don't know if I actually want to spend the money for it. I'd rather just buy something else...thanks for telling us about this!

True however, Square-Enix at times enjoy going for an interesting development. It seems at first PS3 had it's interests during the 6-axis controller's motion sensor, however the sales for the PS3 have died down, and what's hilarious is, Nintendo is selling the Wii for more then it's worth, while the PS3 is selling for less then it's worth. So Sony is in a losing race anyways, because for every PS3 they sell, they lose money. And the fact the companies are slowly moving away from Sony, this brings high doubt that Square-Enix won't be heading back to PS3, as less people would want to buy it now after hearing this. Sony's going to have to face this decision.

    1. Get their VERY FIRST Killer-Ap soon, or they're screwed. Their new "ICO" project for PS3 may be that Killer-ap. As Team ICO has yet to dissapoint, I mean Shadow of the Colossus was THE game, all they needed was better cameraing and it would have been perfect, imagine that type of game hitting the PS3.

However, besides that, they arn't gonna make it far, Nintendo won the audience by doing what Sony failed to do. Besides delivering, revealing. We've seen games we recognize, a few newer games, but they started off with games we recognize, a great way to start a next-gen game. We know Mario, we know Metroid, we know Super Smash Bros, and we definatly know Zelda. Not all of them hit on release, but those games brough high reason to get the Wii. Nintendo's been going at it for yeeeaaars now, so they know what they're doing when hyping the audience, and they understand something Sony doesn't. Gameplay > Graphics. Graphics come somewhere around there, not dead last, but graphics help gameplay as well. However gameplay should be the major priority.

...This is really sad, for the PS3. Everyone keeps sh!tting on it. I'm even wondering if the situation will change in a couple of years.

I'm particularly shocked at S-E for making such a remark. I read a more detailed article about their view on the PS3, some days back, but it never stated they had ZERO plans for it. I would post the article here, but it's in french D:

What PS3 needs is a console price drop, then they might actually start selling units.

It's true, Wii is getting more attention, me and my friends like the new Wii remote and you do recognise lots of games like Super Mario, Zelda and other plus they think Halo sucks so, I doubt Xbox 360 is going to win and if PS3 keeps up with the Graphics and not the content then Wii will win the console Wars but I just can't figure out how they would make Final Fantasy games for Wii.

Edit: I also heard that was the last Final Fantasy, and so far it looks like the Wii has less fans but is still winning, I see more Xbox 360 fans.

That, and we've been getting more noticeable games for the Wii, some may have not come out yet, but just knowing they're out there, and EXCLUSIVE to the Wii makes it more of a buy, that and yeah it's price. It's durable to an extent. It's given more playtime in showcases then the PS3 has as well, which is where another major difference comes in, people know how the Wii felt like early. Nintendo knows how to please their audience. Sony knew how to do that for PS2, however has so far failed to do that for PS3. But this is only year one, we'll see how they do at next TGS.

But like I said, this is year one, don't expect alot of good games for both systems yet, we'll wait to TGS to see what happens.

Wii is also putting out fun little games like Marble Madness that are great to rent from the library and have lots of challenge and replay value.

I don't know, I like the Wii. I mean, sure it doesn't have completely great titles, but the Wii was only supposed to be a new way of gameplay.

I, despite my liking of the Wii, would have bought a PS3 myself if it hadn't been so freakin' expensive.
