It seems it's real. They've got the star of Kamen Rider Den-O to play him (which is a good decision if you've ever seen him act, especially as Kintaros Possessing Ryoutaro). Thank god it's not another Hollywood massacre though.

No no no no! This can't be true! No, my no 1 absolute favourite manga series turned into a live action movie. *diez and then diez again*

God bless Watsuki that he never allowed Hollywood to touch his creation.

*takes deep breath* Okay i'll try to be positive, this may turn out well *looks at the actor* Oh ****! *Takes another deep breath* Okay he's not that bad but still...

Do we know what it will be about? The Kyoto arc? The Enishi one? All of it? How they will fit 28 volumes, not counting the extra stories like Yahiko no Sakabato, into a movie?

Thank god Watsuki didn't allow Hollywood to touch this. I've never seen this guy act before so I don't really have an opinion about him. I hope that the live action movie doesn't stray too far away from the story of the manga.

I doubt they'll be able to squeeze 28 volumes into one movie. I would assume that it would be about the first arc of the series to start everything off just in case they make a sequel and because it would be kinda weird to start a movie with an arc that starts later in the story or they can be original and make their own plot for the movie. I hope that they don't do the latter because that situation usually doesn't work.

I must say: It's about time that they decided to make an anime based movie of an anime that was actually realistic enough to be translated into live action effectively. Seriously, I don't think (necessarily), that Holllywood was the entire problem with all the other garbage anime (and video game for that matter) based films that have come out; I would assume that Rurouni Kenshin would have been one of the easier starting points. Regardless, it sounds like a pretty good bid, especially if Hollywood isn't going to be allowed to do the things it does do to make such movies utterly ridiculous. And with the creator seemingly playing something of a role in iut's making, then it's bound to stay true to the series.

I am so excited about this, the animated Kenshin deserved a much happier ending than how the OVAs ended. Never really liked that.
They'll probably do the Shishio Arc in the first movie, then if they have a sequel, set it up for Enishi's entrance. Which I will be psyched for.

If they do this well, as in not The Last Airbender style, it will be an amazing movie.
    I have hope.

Who cares, that ending it's not even cannon :p

I don't think so. Actually i'd rather have the movie(s) end where the Shishio arc does. The Jinchu arc is too emotional and i'm not sure if i'd like to see Enishi played by an actor T__T Not to mention that there are heck lot of battles. Although it would be interesting to see how the dolls would turn out.

I know this show, it was cool.
but they're gonna ruin it by putting in live-action movie version, such as they ruined Dragon Ball Z and The Last Airbender. But god i hope not.

Er... you probably didn't read that it's not Hollywood making it. It's made in Japan. So there won't be as much executive meddling or "fan-director improvements".
