alex smiled. "all right then." she looked at the rest of them standing next to her. "how are you all doing?"

BIC: Hanna laughed at Ren, "Nah, you're made of tough stuff than that but you never know" She turned to Alex, "I'm good. We got away from the EBO with no major injuries after they cornered us and sent them home sucking their wounds. I count that as a good days work." She glanced away, "I just hope the others are okay, they're taking a while"

 

Kevin watched Mya, "I'm going to head over to the others." He slowly limped away, "There is no way I'm going to stay near this insane lady, even if she is my sister and is knocked out."

 

alex glanced around curiously. "that's for sure." there really aren't too many people here yet.

 

Mya helped Kevin stand upright. Yea let's hurry. We can't stick around too long.

 

Kevin smiled when Mya helped him, "Yeah." Said Kevin. He then saw the others, "Hey, you guys."

 

Kurisu looked over to Mya and Kevin as they arrived.
"About time you guys got here!" he called out, and then he noticed Kevin as they got closer and ran to help Mya with him, getting on the other side of him and supporting him.
"Wow Kevin.. you've seen better days..." he paused. "Was it red again?" he asked, referring to Kevin's red-headed sister.

 

Kevin nodded, answering weakily, "Yes...She's insane...and currently knocked out, but we don't know how long she'll be out." Kevin's vision was only getting more blurry.

 

"Oi! Alex!" Kurisu shouted out to their medical person.
"Now's your chance to shine!" he told her.

He then looked at Mya, "By the way Mya... I think you're being stalked..."

 

alex wasn't sure if she should smile or glare at kurisu. she decided to just shrug it off. "kevin you look horrible." alex turned to see a bench nearby. "mya kurisu set him down over here so that i can take a good look at him." she pointed to the bench behind her.

kaleb saw all runners gather together in the distance. so that's them huh? i don't get it. none of them look that impressive, but yet they manage to evade us all the time. we like to think we're the ones in charge, but for such a small number of them they do a lot of damage. more than they should for not using weapons. that's for sure. he turned back around behind the statue leaning his back against it pulling out another cigarette. this is really terrible. it's gotta be like what? my tenth one today? it's becoming quite a problem.

 

Mya set Kevin down an looked at Kirisu confusingly. Stalked? By who?

 

"Some EBO guy with a sniper rifle... He had a clear shot at you at one stage so I intervened." Kurisu paused for a second recalling what the guy had said.
"He mentioned something about how 'he should have killed you years ago', you sure have a weird stalker... anyway, yeah. Thankfully, he didn't get the chance to pull the trigger that time. But I thought I'd let you know to watch your back." he told her.
He finished sipping from his cola can, and threw it perfectly into a trash can a few metre's away. SCORE!

 

Mya tapped through her memories, but couldn't recognize how he was described. Well, I'm not to sure who you described, but thanks for distracting him for me.

 

"Anytime." he said casually.
"It's just it seemed like he knew you... so yeah, be careful."

He went over to a vending machine again and got a few cola's tossing a few to the others.
He handed one to Mya and then opened his own and took a sip.
"So what happened? The EBO and the Blues seemed more organised than usual... they knew exactly what to do... and that just doesn't really add up.. ya know?" he asked.
"I was coming back from another job when I got a call from the boss asking me to check up on you guys. It's a good thing I did... I guess.
They had some of the most elite EBO out here tonight. Including the 'Chaos Brothers'..."
He looked to Kevin being treated by Alex. "Not to mention Red." he paused.
"We all know Kevin, he wouldn't end up in that state so easily.. Something was definitely up."

 

Lynne bit her lip. Kevin was a mess and listening to Kurisu talk about the 'Chaos Brothers' again made her feel nervous all over again. The twin EBO's scared her and inteurigued her. "They're pulling out all the stops this time. I'm sure it was no routine check around the block."

Ryku silently left the house, leaving Demitri to relax. He'd have to pawn another set of their mother's rings to get the money they needed for his medicine. Coming home, Ryku stopped, noticing Kaleb smoking again. "Isn't that bad for your health. If you get lung cancer, I'm not going to help you." he said with a friendly smile. His eyes drifted toward the Runner's gathering and sighed, "So, Kaleb, what're you doing out here all by yourself?"

 

kaleb chuckled. "ya' know, i was just thinking about that actually." he glanced around the corner of the statue again looking at the runners across the plaza. "new mission. can't say much about it right now, but just a heads up, next time you see me you're going to have to act like you don't know me. pass the word along. i've gotta go undercover for awhile and i'm not sure how long it's going to take." kaleb tossed his cigarette butt on the ground and put it out with his foot. "i probably already said to much, but i like you a lot ryku and i'm going to miss hanging out with you while i'm under my orders."

 

Ryku smiled and clapped a hand on Kaleb's shoulder, "Yeah, me too, my friend. I'll see you when I see you then. I'll keep Demitri's big mouth shut in the mean time, for your sake." Ryku would miss his friend, since most of the EBO officers were his friends, despite how much they hated Demitri's smug attitude. He figured undercover would work for him...if he could stop smoking so much. He left it at that and left, heading back home. His head a jumbled mess of the Runner's. Hanna, Lynne, Kurisu...they were interesting to watch but Demitri would never allow him to go undercover and become one. The brother's were just too well known to be someone else.

 

alex rummaged through her medical bag. "she got you pretty good today kevin." she grabbed some bandages and gauze. "guys i know we have a lot to discuss but in order for me to get him treated properly we gotta get out of the plaza. he needs stiches and a lot of bandaging." alex looked back at kevin. "is the bullet hole a through and through or is it still inside your arm?"

kaleb watched as his friend walked away. he's a good man. even demitri isn't that bad when you get to know him. he sighed and walked out from behind the statue. i need to figure out how to approach them without seeming suspicious. kaleb walked passed the group of runners gathered together and nodded.

 

Kevin was listening to the talking that seemed distance to him, he was in a daze, thinking about why his sister had to be out to kill him. The two had been really close up until he turned eighteen. He woke from the daze at Alex's words, he looked at her blurry figure with unfocused eyes, and weakily said, "The one in my arm went all the way through, as for my ankle, it's still in there." Through his hazy vision, he saw a man who he could of sworn he saw earlier that day.

Meanwhile, behind a dumpster, a certain red head sat up, rubbing the back of her head, which was sore. I'm going to kill those brats next time I see them. She stood up, but had to lean agianst a wall to stay on her feet. She felt really light headed. I'm going to break his hands next time...

 

alex noted the daze kevin was in and then checked his ankle. "yeah it appears to still be in there. I'm going to have to remove it right away so that it doesn't get infected. you don't wanna loose your foot do you?" she followed kevin's gaze and noticed the man walking by. "do you know him?"

kaleb began to head home. gotta come up with a plan. gotta come up with a plan. he kept repeating it to himself the rest of the way home.
