Running Edge

Mya looked back at the others. Get everyone out. There's an abandoned medical camp a mile to the west. Take Kevin there. I'll try to buy some time.

 

alex looked at kevin and then in the direction of the van. "what on earth are they doing? it shouldn't take nearly this long to cross the plaza."

 

"Nah-ah. No way." Kurisu said opening the door and stepoing out of the vehicle.
"The group is gonna need you." he told her with a wink, while speaking through the still open door.
He looked forwards at the road block and calculated his chances of success.
"I'll make a distraction, I'll get them all away and make an opening, you get through while the chance is there, even if you have to ditch the van. Just find another if you have to." he sounded confident.
"Capiche?" he asked.

 

kaleb kept pondering what to do. i need to speak with that girl that stood up to kira. anyone that stupid has to have some form of authority. i wouldn't even stand up to kira, nothing brave about it. just stupid. he sighed as he finished his drink. "one more please." kaleb waved to the bartender. i just need to figure out how i'll speak to her. the runners seem rather guarded and not too keen to strangers.

 

Kevin was getting rather dizzy now, and weak. His reponse was simply a shrug, and a weak one at that.

 

Mya frowned. That's still not fair. It's going to be the same scenerio when I'm going. There's not a lot of differences between us.

 

Demitri sighed, "Hey, you want me to talk to Kaleb? Maybe I could help him out in some way." He watched his brother give him a incredulous look and he shrugged, "I'm going out. You got to have a walk, I'm going for a walk."

Ryku watched his brother leave the house. He knew exactly where he was going and it was no walk. "The bar again, Demitri? Honestly, if your lungs don't give out, your liver will."

 

"I know, but... life isn't fair. You should know that." he smirked.
"Look, I've had it easy-ish today. Maybe it's pushing my luck, but you've had a rougher time so far. By the looks of things, you saved Kevin back there from 'Red', also making you the hero of the day. Isn't it more fair therefore to let you have the easier job this time?"
Kurisu realised she could use the life isn't fair comeback against him now, but... meh.
It's not like he was trying look cool, act tough or play the hero. He just knew this would be dangerous... and... he wasn't sure, but there was something about Mya that made him think she would be the better option to go back to the others. After all, she had also led the others on the run today so far, she should be the one to finish it.

 

alex could feel kevin getting weaker in her arms and tried to adjust his weight to compensate. "you're getting really heavy. what on EARTH are they doing over there? the van is just sitting and the longer it sits over there the worse you're going to get." she looked at the bench behind her and back towards the van. "all right. kevin i'm going to lay you down on the bench and go see what they're doing, because you can't wait much longer. you have a lot of wounds and your foot is becoming more infected by the second."
alex turned to set kevin down and then took off towards the van.

kaleb sat at the bar quietly plotting his way into the runner group. i need to learn their names. it would be easier to approach them if i knew what to call them.

 

OOC: I thought Kevin and Alex were in the van ._.

BIC: Mya sighed. He was too pushy and asking. If you REALLY want to cause a distraction that bad, then I suppose you can go ahead and do that.

 

{ooc: nope...alex, kevin, hanna, lynne, and that one other guy are not in the van....}

alex reached the van and pounded on the driver's side window. "what are you doing?!"

 

"Just trust me!" he winked as he closed the door and ran off towards the road block.
There were only a few blues there, no EBO... This was easy enough.


As Alex came over to the Van to find out what was taking Mya so long. Kurisu set his plan into action:
From the distance of the van, people would have seen a Teenage/young man who looked like he was drunk, stagger up to the officers, engage them in a shouting match before lobbing his coke can right into the face of one of them really hard, and then running off. Each of them chasing after him.
Heh... peace 'o cake. Now all I gotta do is get them far enough from here.
He didn't take to the roof tops just yet, he continued to run through streets and alley ways so they would at least be able to keep up.
He got further and further away from where Mya was with the van.

 

OOC: Oh wow I thought everyone was in the van :/

BIC: Mya slid open the van doors. Get everyone inside fast. Alex ran off to create a distraction. We need to get tithe west side of town. They have a clinic there and no police regulation there.

 

Kevin stood up with much difficulty and got inside the van, only when he was safe in the van did he let himself sleep into unconciousness for a little while. Some rest couldn't hurt, could it?


Kira finally limped, no gimped, her way out from behind the trash can and out of the alley in total.

 

"Okay." Ren said getting into the van.

 

OOC: You meant Kurisu ran ran off to make a distraction right? :P

Kurisu felt truly alive.
His lungs were working hard, his muscles in his legs were burning, everyone of his senses were sharp and alert.
He heard gunshots fired from behind him.
Just a little longer... he thought as he ducked into another alleyway, not losing his speed.

 

OOC: Oops lol I meant Kurisu, not Alex sorry :P

 

{ooc: haha it's cool. we all understand. but it did take me a second, i was all "alex didn't do anything. she's standing there by the van..." no biggie. =]}

alex crawled inside and kneeled down next to kevin. she watched as he fell asleep and pulled supplies out of his bag. "i know we're in a hurry, but if you could try to drive smoothly that would be amazing. i wanna try and get as much done as possible while he's asleep; he won't feel as much pain that way." alexandria found the bottle labeled morphine and pulled out a syringe. she then put what was left of it inside the syringe and injected kevin through the arm.

 

Mya nodded. I'll try my best. She started driving past the posts and towards the western part of the city.

 

alex pulled kevin's shoe and sock off to get to his foot. she then reached in the bag and pulled out a pair of tweezer-like tongs. "all right..." alex took a deep breathe before sticking them inside of the small bullet hole by his ankle. once the bullet was found she slowly pulled it out, trying not to damage anything on it's way. "gross." alex smiled as she held it up to eye level.
