I would much rather the online pass system than this, to be honest. I don't buy many new games simply because I can't afford to pay $60 every time I want a new game. I don't see it rationally happening, though--not only would it be ridiculous for reasons users above me have articulated, but what happens if your console breaks? Or if you want a new PSN ID? For the former, they'd really be shooting themselves in the foot, imo.

I find the idea really silly. I mean I suppose it would help their sales, but it'll just do more harm than good. I mean take books for example. I don't think publishers ever complained that books were sold secondhand or lent between friends. I mean hey, libraries were even invented for that sole purpose. Then there was even the video rental store after that. I don't quite get Sony's logic here, it's quite a waste of good games and raw materials.

The same logic can be applied to buying and selling cars (and pretty much anything else).
