Please, tell me more about how mixing the worst elements of an action game with the worst elements of an RPG make for engaging gameplay
    More like Dirge of STUPID

Seems like someone sucks at shooters.

You two are good people. DoC was a great game, but you can't except a game who's main character is a gun slinging loner to go with the normal battle system of an FF game, shooter is the only logical way to go with it. And it had a GREAT story.

The story was amazing! I seriously love it as much as Crisis Core and God knows how much I love CC (its probably one of my favoirte PSP games next to BBS). I really wish I had the chance to play DoC to know how the gameplay really was but I'll have to check and see if the PSN has it or not. (I haven't played FF7 itself either but I know lots about the story (God Bless wikis) and the game is currently sitting in my PS 3 since I bought it on the PSN last week)

I was lucky enough to find FF7 in a random comic shop in Tennessee when I moved up there, so now I actually own every installment of FF7 except for the obvious one (Before Crisis)

Oh God do you even know how badly I want to play Before Crisis? I've read the whole storyline on the Final Fantasy Wiki and it sounds AMAZING. I really wish I'd gotten the chance to play that.

I know! I really loved all of it! Especially since it wasnt just to expand on Vincent, but it actually expanded on FFVII itself. That was always what got me and made me like it.

I would really enjoy FFXII remake.

I particularly didn't enjoy the game but I also put it down for several months in the middle and didn't really remember what had happened when I picked it up again so that might be a reason I didn't care for it the first time around. But if they did a remake I would buy it and try not to have large breaks.

As for the random topic of FFVII remake...not only would it be expensive for the whole remake...but I think square is waiting to do it until they ABSOLUTELY NEED too. Financially the company hasn't been doing so hot in resent years and I think that it is their "ace in the hole", they know that if they put it out they would make a lot of money.

I think that if KH3 and FFXV don't bring in enough as they expect they might start thinking about putting it into production.

It's odd how often I switch between loving and hating FFXII.

There are days where I feel it murdered the Final Fantasy name by stringing the cliches together into a gameplay style that didn't fit while ruining the dream of a seamless RPG that started with FFVII and died on the first loading screen of FFXII. Heck, a lot of times it never felt like an FF game what with an opening exposition on the world rather than just experiencing it. I always thought that was the unique charm of FF. It just threw you right in and left you to experience the world from there and XII just ditched that concept.

Then there are days when I play it where I get completely sucked in.

I still swear that this is a very good RPG and I would love an HD remaster (I'd certainly purchase it to support the most talented director at SE), but I just don't think it can meet the expectations of an FF game. It's certainly better though when you set the expectations yourself and know what's coming.
