You mean the rules that were just added a couple of hours ago? Yeah, surely they need to be emphasized for the staff as right away! What bullying from the staffers are you talking about anyway? I haven't seen anything that would qualify since a couple of people were demoted.

You claim that you will listen, and then you do not. You claim you will compromise, and then you shut us down. The fact that you corralled us all into this thread and shut down any discussion outside of your home turf shows that you will not speak with members on equal ground. The threads you locked broke no rules. They were attempts by members to have a civil discussion with you on equal ground. You locked them. That is not listening.

Claim here, claim there. Walk it out.

    Thread locked.

It's mostly just that it's easier for the staff here. I understand what you're saying, that we could benefit from some of the informality, and I'm trying to keep this thread rather light--if you've noticed we've not really been discussing the rules at all, which is the overall topic of the thread, lol. Normally I'd be all "rahhhhhh stay on topic" but yeah.

Then you are not all bastards though some still fit the image of one. I have nothing against your updated rules. I could care less really. The one issue that I feel that should be brought up is how the staff handles the rules. The writers of the rules should follow the rules. Back in last September, before the bullying rule was official, before it had to be put in the rules, when it was assumed that the members were capable of knowing that bullying was against the rules, were the staff following them? Did they not once pick on a single entity?

And isn't having this thread, and directing members towards it, attempting to listen? You guys ask for a place to voice your opinions; does it really matter what section it is in? The only difference is who is seeing and replying to the threads. I have posted a link to this thread within the spam section, and I hope its regular denizens will post in here, or at the very least, read what's being said. As I told Ghetto, you're welcome to direct people on your own. We cannot control where members post and with what frequency.

We are trying to develop something here that will work for the majority; I acknowledge that my behavior has not been sparkling lately and apologize for it; I could give you a whole slew of reasons as to why, but excuses are excuses and I won't waste time with them. Let's try to move forward here.

While people who may 'sign' (can it be considered signed over the internet) ...I'll use the word 'accept' a contract. At the same time, while a contract should be followed, that doesn't mean that everyone actually does follow it, or will always follow it. There is no guarantee.
And in the past when I feel that I witnessed such bullying, nothing was done to address it then.
Again, this is just my opinion, but since I haven't seen it addressed before. Who is to say such instances would be addressed in the future?

EDIT: and to add upon what Ace said. I'm not saying it's all of the staff. But there are definitely some who I feel have thrown their power about.

Ironically, me mentioning names and the like here in public would violate KHV's rules about shaming members.

To be honest, I don't doubt for a minute that we had made some rude posts, and like I said, we are still members and should be held accountable for when we go against the rules too. (Completely sorry about all of those I may have done by the way. I've noticed I can be short tempered at times, so if I did make anyone feel really bad I'm sorry. Defs working on it though. :c )

It sounds like you're referring to something specifically in the past and I would rather discuss that privately. It's a complicated issue that I've already talked about with those involved. To the person who felt that way, I have already apologized for wrongs on my side and expressed that it might be for the best if we all just moved on from it. This is a whole other can of worms.

No. It is attempting to direct and control the flow of dissenting opinions.

Unlock those threads and read them as they come, made by and posted in my Spam Zone members in their common territory. That will be listening.

It is not listening in the same way that taking someone from their living room into a court room in which the accuser and the adjudicator are represented by the same agency is not listening.

We can't really make any guarantees there, can we? People giving their word and then breaking it is something outside of anyone's control except their own. But I am quite serious about them sticking to it and have spoken to people on more than one occasion when I've felt they were in defiance of it. I cannot, however, be up to date on every issue, which is why I ask that you guys simply inform me (or any other staff member) when you feel a staff member is abusing their power.
Well yes, I would rather not embarrass people by having their names and wrongs publicly listed here. I don't think that's how we should work, as a staff or as a community.

To be clearer, it would be an attempt to listen if you had this thread and allowed people to discuss in the Spam Zone as well, but you shut them down there and forced them here. At best that means that they must listen to you as opposed to the opposite and puts them at a clear disadvantage.

I work better when things are organized, as would I'm sure many other members. We can discuss the mode of communication here for ages, really. Or we can get down to it and try to make progress.

Perhaps you can privately send examples of the aforementioned, because I am curious as well and certainly do not deny that staff have the possibility to act in unsavoury methods at times. The staff are humans as well, and things like this may go unnoticed, which is why it is good to report any sort of bullying - staff or otherwise.
Of course, there would be repercussions of some sort depending on the severity of the bullying you speak of. Contracts exists for a reason, sir!

If you want to move on, if you want to end the problems that have arisen because of what has happened, then use your power.

He said it. I have no other issues with anyone else on this site. I just want what was wronged to be set right.

A number of threads have been left open in spam. I've only closed two tonight. Many other remain. Talk there if you please; I'll be focusing on this thread. This is where you will garner serious attention from the staff.

If you have any qualms with the staff's behaviour, I implore you to PM one of us about it. We will take it seriously and try to resolve whatever the problem is.

@Thread: Guys, the purpose of this thread was to discuss the updated rules. We understood that some of you had some problems concerning them, correct? So can we get back to that?

Luxord's ban is between the staff and Luxord. If he is interested in having it reviewed, he should approach the staff privately.

It is considered selfish and certainly not a good listening quality to shut people up and take them aside to where you feel most comfortable, and then to make sure that they stay aside with you. Not allowing them to go back into the open and discuss the issue on their terms... Is far from the listener's attitude.

Again, you are shutting me down. Forcing it to a head in which you get a final say in a setting you like and everyone must deal with it or face infractions if they continue to discuss it in public.

I do not wish to discuss the subject in your section, I wish to discuss it in the open. Let us get down to it, but not here. Forcing me to stay here is not listening.

Should I make another thread in Spam? I may if I feel censored any further in this thread.

    On the rules angle again,

Jiku suggested this. Personally I think it would help clear up some things that may be unclear in the Rules thus far. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
