Kingdom Hearts II Roxas' Awakening

I was replaying this scene over again, and I noticed something.

Right before the Twilight Thorn appears, there's a black-cloaked figure standing behind Roxas. When he turns around, it disappears and the Twilight Thorn appears. If you want to check it out for yourself, pause the KH-Vids video of Twilight Town: Day 2 at approximately 7:02 seconds remaining.

My question is: Who is that guy?

 

Possibly Riku when he was Xehanort's Heartless, Axel, or Xemnas.

 

I don't think it could have been Axel.

When Axel approaches Roxas later, he immediately goes for "Hey how's it going!" not sneak around and attack you with giant Nobodies.

 

Maybe it was Riku then? Because he was following him around.

 

Riku was following him around, but I don't see any motive for him to attack Roxas. And besides, what would Riku be doing in Roxas' awakening thing? The same thing for Xemnas.

I have an idea...

Maybe it was Roxas himself...And it transformed into the Twilight Thorn, like Sora's shadow turned into the Darkside.

 

Possibly, you may be right. But you never know, lol.

 

Maybe Twilight Thorn is the equivalent to a darkside?

i highly doubt its Riku because him and Ansem/Diz were trying to keep the heartless away from Roxas

 

I swear I've seen this topic before....but maybe it's old and in the thread graveyard now. =/

ANYWAYS, I really think it could be like his old Org XIII self, being there like a shadow.

oh and here's a screenshot of it.

 

I can identify every member of Organization XIII with their hoods up. It's kinda hard to tell in this picture, since it's from the back... but that looks like Roxas in his Organization clothes. Yeah, I'm sure it is. He stands with his hips forward, and I'm getting a Roxas vibe from the shoulder proportions.

 

Hmm, now that I look at it really closely, it does kinda look like Roxas in his Org. cloak. The figure looks like it's standing a little slanted, which is how Org. XIII Roxas stands in Jiminy's Journal...

And it would make a lot of sense if was Roxas' shadow kinda thing. Like how Sora's shadow was the Darkside... Cool!

Hmmm...I think you're right. I never knew that was possible unless I would look at them from the side.

 

I've noticed it, but I kinda forgot about it. But I think it looks like Roxas because yes it does look like him in his organization coat....
