Traditional Art Roxas and Axel....(for YouSheng)

This is pic that took me a little over a week but I'm fairly satisfied with the results. It's just Roxas and Axel, hanging out for old times sake. I hope you like YouSheng!!!

Done with plain old pencil and paper. (bad quality I know, but my scanner hates me right now). Let me know if you like it!!!

And yes, Axel looks like he's very, VERY weird. DON'T RUB IT IN!!! Oh, and if you can't tell, Axel is holding one of those little balls that we see with the TWTN gang in the beginning of the game. He's also wearing a chakram necklace. (Roxas looks so much better!! I am so mad at myself for making Axel look like that!!) But I did have fun making this pic. Thanks for checking it out!

oh, yes!!! it's on the clock tower, the most memorable place for both of them
and I think this one is the one has the most detailed background of all your pics lately
so I know how much effort you put into it
and instead of drawing both having sea-salt ice-cream, you did really try something different

This one is pretty , I like the shading to n_n
I love the details you have done with the houses in the background and around the characters.
Axel's hands are a little small.
Roxas hair should have been bigger/higher and it should be shorter in the neck (but that's just small details xD)
And I think their necks are a little bit to long.(maybe it's just me O.O)
I like the way you drawed Roxas hand, it's really good.
And it is a little funny the way Axel looks down at his tummy xD
And again I love the detail in the back and the shading (:.

 

Yeah, a bunch of that stuff is stupid stuff I REALLY wanted to fix, but never got around to it. Axel's actually looking at his hand cause he's holding one of those little sparkly balls too. And Roxas's hair was really fun to do, but once I tried to make it bigger, it looked like a tornado had ran through. ^^

 

You asked for it! SoOoOoOo~ Here we go!

K a i r i makes a nice summary of what I needed to say, but I'll just emphasize on certain points:

The necks are *really* too long. I'm not exactly sure of it's proportion size, but it shouldn't be any larger than half the face itself (you may wanna verify this). And as far as the hands go, it's roughly the size of one's full face. (yours here are too small!)

The perspective doesn't work all too well either, but I appcrieated the landscape drawing anyway because; 1) I hate perspective! D: 2) it gives it an amusing, flat style, in the sense of being able to see everything in the drawing in detail from up front. I dunno if that came out right but yeah XD

So, to sum it up!: Work more on body proportions and your perspective. You can do this by doing a lot and I mean a bloody f-cking lot of observational drawing. It's not always the most exciting thing - hell it can be even BORING - but it helps improve your way of perceiving things, and it's structure. :3

Thank you so much!! Trust me, I'm working on ALL of those things. I've noticed that at least half of my pics have long necks, so everyone looks like girrafes. Oops.
