Why do people think they are deadly? they are sweet sure they are nippy but i had BOTH in a time i had a Rott named Sheba and she was the sweetest dog she
just sit on my porch she only get protective when a dog gets on our property
and then she died cause someone shot her T_T and then for Pittbulls i had one named Max and he was so friendly with kids! all you need is harder training for those kind of dogs to be nice thats all!

Doberman are the scariest to me. Just remember this one rule. You don't have to outrun the dog, you just have to outrun your friend.

It is all how you raise the dog. If you train it to be nice then they're most likely the dog is going to be nice. If you make it a mean dog when well it is going to be mean.

That's what I was just about to say. It's not the dogs, it's the people who train them. I have an 11-12ish Rottweiler mix, and he's one of the sweetest dogs I know.

And I don't the reputation of the Rottweiler and Pittbull is helped by all those sick lame-faces who raise their puppies to be in dog fights. It disgusts me.

Because some jerk figured they were good figthing dogs.
Now good pets have to pay the price:( (Pits are banned in Norway, as well as a whole bunch of crazy things like reptiles, most exotic pets and soon perhaps tropical birds!)

Was it not because they were breeded for the sole purpose of fighting?

I heard Rotweilers are horrendously dangerous when they hunt in packs. They're considered one of the most dangerous dogs out there when it comes to that. But overall, I think it's okay as long as they're well-trained, but some dogs no matter how much they're trained can turn someday if they want to.

I once heard of a little girl who got bitten in the face by her pet dachshound. Yes, dachshound. Tiny sausage-dogs.
ANY dog can turn on you, regardles if it's a pit or a rotweiler.
Pits may have been breed for figthing ages ago but now a days all GOOD breeders breed them for pets, and only breed good-natured dogs. The figthing dogs are those trained and breed for fighting, they're the ones you should look out for.
I once saw a video on YouTube of a bitbull with some baby chickens or whatever (some baby animal^^; not puppies) it was adorable:D

Dogs trained for fighting shouldn't really be allowed to be kept as pets unless the person has a permit that shows that they are capable of keeping the dog under control and there are no children living nearby (many of these dogs seem to mistake children as animals to hunt =/).

Ideally they should be restricted to zoos.

I thought I posted on this thread already >.<

It all really depends on how they are brought up, and in what enviorment
