Well, things have changed, though. Singles are now made to be just something to listen to or dance to. If you wanted meaningful lyrics out of it, you'd probably need to buy their album. I guess that's kind of a marketing trick they've developed...

You're right. And it is a good way to do things, because it's not hard like it used to be. People now have to be catchy instead of meaningful. But I understand it's not easy to do. I just wish times didn't change into this, but I guess I have no choice. lol

Rock's just a few emo nerds crashing instruments together to be cool.

Yes, cos Rock is so niche that it can be defined by one small area of the industry. lol Rock is so expansive as a genre. While that may be true for emo, not as rock as a whole. YAY for steorotypes huh.

Rap shouldn't be defined by one small area, but it is. There is more to it than most know.

mostly today's rock is all this poprock from the radio :/
i prefer rock over rap easily
i just like more rock then rap
it's like not because i don't like rap but i get into rock songs faster
i dislike most of the gangsta rap though that seriously annoys me
and germany is filled with those rappers
i like hip hop like kayne west :/
but rock just makes me feel better xD

I've preferred Rock always, I relate to it easier, and I love the sounds of guitars. I like that most rock songs have an actual melody, how most of it is actually played instrumentally, in stead of just adding a computer-generated loop after another. But don't get me wrong, I don't hate rap, it can be enjoyable at times. Just as long as it isn't in Finnish...

    I agree.

BTW. You can't really compare the two, hip-hop(notice I said hip-hop and not rap) is about lyrics, and rock is more about the music.
