You have a good point there. And I'm not saying that he never did anything, cause he did live on Apple and Eagle, but I just try to express my dissatisfaction with the obsession with him, like he is so gangsta.

This reminds me of a comment I saw yesterday on LiveMixtapes

"**** this jay-z+coldplay **** is nice. Coldplay aint bad foreal. *****z need to expand they **** like kanye and them"

It made me laugh, but it is quite true. People need to stop being completely obsessed with wayne and look around more.

Alright, I'll be sure to check it out.

Dude, this stuff sounds like it would be directly pulled from Samurai Champloo.

    Very nice.

edit: I think The Dynasty is my favorite.

o lawdy. Didn't see this. Anyway...

While I will admit that a lot of non-mainstream rap has quite poetic lyrics, all mainstream rap is horribly generic. The themes are disgusting and overused, and the beats are repetitive and boring.

Rock requires an equal level of poetry as well as flowing and harmonized instrumentals that correspond to one another in such a way that they can produce a, dare I say, rockin' melody and matching harmony.

I agree, that's the beauty of rock, not just underground rock is deep and good, it's actually the opposite of rap, the best and deep rock is mainstream. That's what rap needs to be.

Yea seriously. Rap needs to go back to how it was in the 80's-mid 90's. That stuff was great. It had good beats, talented lyricists, and just good songs all around, both mainstream and non-mainstream.

Oh come on. You can't blame hip-hop now. Right about now, the mainstream hip-hop is about having a good time and something to just listen to on the radio. Sure, it may not have the best lyrics, but it's just basically about having a good time (at least the mainstream rap is). I understand lyrics are important but singles are for something to listen to in your car and just dance to, you know? But I see what you guys mean.

Well what we mean is that mainstream was much better before, when if you wanted something to dance to, you listened to pop, but if you wanted real hip-hop with meaningful lyrics, you turned to a rap station.

This isn't even a debate. It's more like a discussion of rap.
