Well, honestly, it's all about the person's preferences and opinions rather than the facts. Also, Hip Hop ftw.

rock is better because the music has better chorus' and better songs.Rock is louder and rock speaks about matters on the inside but Rap only talks about stuff thats only skin deep.

I like both, but I listen to more rap than rock. It's not that I hate rock in general, it's that I dislike certain types of rock, especially punk, most pop punk, screamo, and pretty much all metal. I like some alternative rock and regular rock...or whatever you call it.

But also, I dislike some rap/hip hop. I don't like a **** load of songs about sex and money and value lyrical skill a LOT. I don't like most of the mainstream crap, and I'm honestly not a HUGE r&b fan, though I have nothing against it.

And that is my two cents.

And this is why you "Spec before check" as Lil Wayne says. Learn more about something before you talk about it. Pretty much everything you just said about rap is false.

Not necessarily. Sure, most mainstream rap may seem like it's not too deep, but you have to dig for better lyrical music.

EDIT: Crap, Ghetto beat me to it. xD

I prefer rock, but thats only because I've never taken the time to listen to any rap other than mainstream rap, which isn't to my tastes |:

And I like rock because it helps me get emotions out O_O [/emoness]

Well next time to avoid misunderstanding say something to indicate that it's your opinion rather then stating it as if it were fact. It keeps things peaceful.

I'd like to remind everyone that the opinions expressed by others on the anti-rap side of the argument are not necessarily those shared by others on that side and therefore those persons' reasoning are invalid towards the general point of discussion between other people in the anti-rap party.

Also, PLEASE remember to play nice.

Why is it Anti-Rap? Why not Pro-Rock? Huh? Huuuuh? O_o

Also, I have never fired my sonic weapons at anyone who didn't offend me or my music and don't plan on it.

My rule of thumb, if it uses traditional rock instruments, it's rock.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE WILL PROBABLY PISS MANY PEOPLE OFF THAT READ IT:

I go with rock. Most "popular" rap music is about...well, read the lyrics... Rock, in my opinion, is based more around emotions and the artist, as in Rap, it's based around whores, drugs, guns, and money. I know there is SOME good Rap, but let's admit that most of it is junk. I'm more into screamo and metal though...preferably Christian Screamo though (blessthefall ftw). And from what I've seen, there are rock songs about sex, but the only one I like uses these words: What do I have to do, to get inside of you? While rap songs use these words: Super soak that ho!

Cin what does rock have to do with thumbs? You are obviously a very confused child, come with me to the nurse's office.

Most of you can bash on rap for talking about drugs, sex, etc, but you know what? Rock does the same thing. It may not be as much, but it does it. Look at classic rock, most of it is about partying, heartbreak, sex and drugs.

Rap and rock are equal in my opinion, but I prefer rock.
