My first impression of this movie was that it looked too Gladiator-y, in several ways. The same guy who directed Gladiator directed this, and plus it has Russell Crowe. Not to mention that when most people think "Robin Hood", they don't imagine someone quite as badass. They think "men in tights", or an animated fox. But it's actually a really good movie. c:
I haven't seen it yet, but it looks so dang badass. I think it's good they tried to give him a more dangerous look rather than a man in tights, I don't think that would've selled very well. I have to agree though, it looks very Gladiator-ish. But still, I think it will be worth my money.
Luna, I heard that Crowe stormed out of a interview recently because the interviewer said that he sounded Irish in accent. This trailer has little dialouge in it so I can't make a judgement on this point of view, but would you say that he sounded a bit Irish?
Not looking forward to this. The Robin Hood series that was on BBC looked much better, I liked the actor better than this one. Meh. Not expecting anything great.
The movie seems more like Kingdom of Heaven, to be honest. Which is also a Ridley Scott movie. But I guess it should feel like Gladiator since it has Russell Crowe I'm going to see the movie. Crowe's a great actor to be honest. And it seems to be doing pretty well, in review wise.
He sounded pretty English to me. If anything else, he may have sounded Scottish in some places, but definitely not Irish. Little John, on the other hand, sounded like he couldn't decide whether to have a Scottish or English accent. I wasn't expecting much either, but it's pretty darn good. c:
I quite agree with you. Although the trailer doesn't tell us much, I still prefer the one they aired on the BBC channel. Maybe its just me, but I'm not that excited after seeing that trailer... But then again I shouldn't judge the film by what's on the trailer, so you never know...
Saw the movie today. IMO it was boring. Would've done much better if it was focused more on Robin Hood being Robin Hood. As in stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. It doesn't even compare to the first episode of the Robin Hood series or have half as much badassness in it. Too bad so few people on KHV have watched it.
It seems very Gladiator-ish and if Alan Rickman isn't the sheriff then it's going to be worse than the previous version of Robin Hood.
My friend watched it and she said it wasn't that great. I don't know, it doesn't look all that great to me.
