Becky looked up with tears streaming down her face when she heard him say those words. "No you don't..." she said quietly as she looked at him. "You told me you didn't... and besides... I can never live with myself for ever letting you get hurt because of me..." she burrowed her face into her arms and continued to cry.

 

"I never said that Becky...." Evan said pulling her close, "I wanted to leave you so I would never hurt you again....but I realized that I love you too much...." he said letting her rest her head on his chest, "its ok if you want to cry.....I'll be here for you...." he smiled touching her cheek.

 

Becky cried softly into his chest. She gripped his shirt tightly as she cried. She knew that she had hurt him by saying that... and she felt badly about it. She hugged him close to her, making sure not to touch his burn mark.

Then a nurse came and asked if Evan could come inside so that they could put some ointment on his burn.

 

"Theres only one way I'll go in there..." Evan smiled standing up slowly and gently, "and thats if you will come with me Becky....I want to be with you...." he smiled kissing her on the cheek and holding her hand.

 

Becky wiped away her tears and held Evan's hand as they walked inside.

 

Evan sighed, "so how bad do you think its going to sting nurse...?" he asked partially afraid of the answer, he took off his coat and shirt, he looked at the wound as best he could, "oh crap....this is going to sting...."

 

Becky squeezed his hand and smiled. "Don't worry... I'll make sure she doesn't hurt you..." she said and grinned.

The nurse laughed. "Don't worry... just close your eyes and it will all be over soon." she grabbed the ointment and started to gently spread it on his back.

Becky squeezed his hand and smiled.

 

"Ah....yep...stings..." Evan laughed trying to relax, he held Beckys hand gently, "you and I are relaxing after this....either in my dorm or your dorm and just laying in the bunk relaxing and hugging each other..." he smiled.

 

Becky smiled and kissed him on the cheek. "Sounds good to me..." she said and smiled. Then suddenly, the bell for the next class rang. "Shoot..." she said frowning. "Why now...?" she sighed.

 

Evan sat up a little but winced and laid back down, "well it looks like I'm not going back to class for the rest of this day...atleast till this can heal somewhat...." he smiled, "I wish you could stay here with me...." he said gently rubbing her hand, "I'm sure the nurse can write you a pass to class...." he sighed.

 

The nurse looked sadly between the two and then smiled. "I can do that much for such a lovely young couple..." she said and wrote Becky a pass to get out of class.

"Thank you ma'm," Becky said and smiled as she gave a small bow. Then she turned to Evan. "Maybe we should stay here for awhile... I don't want you to go through any more pain..." she said.

 

"I could never go through pain with you...." Evan smiled reaching up and touching her cheek, "we can talk....hug....or I can even draw you again if you want....."

 

Becky sighed. "No..." she said and smiled. "This time you're in the bed... so I'm going to draw you..." she quickly took out a notebook and a pencil and began to sketch him.

 

"Car?" Alexa looked confused, "No thanks, I'm good. I'll see ya later though."

Becky smiled as she looked up at him and continued to draw.

 

Evan sighed, "what if I want to just relax with you Becky...." he smiled, "hug on you and hold you close....and tell you how much I love you...."

 

"Too bad..." she said and laughed as she turned her notebook around to show him what she had drawn. "I already finished... I know it isn't good... but I did what I could." she smiled.

 

Evan smiled, "no its very good.....I'm glad you enjoying drawing....." he said slowly getting up, "perhaps we can do all of that stuff now back at the dorm..." he grinned.

 

"Sure you'll be okay walking?" she asked him, a little worried. "I'll help you... but I don't want you to feel any pain..." she smiled.

 

"As long as I'm with you....pain doesn't matter...." Evan smiled walking over to her and hugging her, "I love you Becky..." he said gently rubbing her back.
