Evan stopped what he was doing and started the car driving off, "I'm sorry Becky...." he said driving, "I am leaving you.....I don't want to ever do something like that to you again...." he said driving to her house and letting her out, "I'm sorry...." he said driving off.

 

Becky stood there in daze as Evan dropped her off at her house and drove off. Tears began to form in her eyes, but then then went away. Anyone who did that to a girl was not a good boyfriend anyways...
Becky slowly started to walk back to the school in her usual shy way. She decided to go back to being shy... then nothing like this would happen again...

 

Angel was in her limo when she saw Becky.
"Bekcy" she yelled out of her limo.

 

Becky looked up at Angel. "Umm... hi..." she said.

 

Evan continued driving, "I might as well change schools...." he said heading towards the school, "grab my things....and move to a new school...." he sighed.

 

"Why are you walking to school....its late"

 

Evan continued driving, "I can't believe I hurt her...." he sighed, "perhaps I should drive back to make sure shes ok...." he said turning his car around and heading back to her house, he parked in the driveway and walked up to the front door, and knocked.

 

Becky's dad awnsered the door. "Yes?" he asked.


Becky put her hand on the back of her head. "Well... I um..." she didn't want to say how Evan had dropped her off, so she fibbed. "I thought I would visit my parents before going back for the next class," she said and smiled at Angel. "What about you? What brings you riding around in these parts?"

 

Work....you wanna come?

 

"During lunch period?" she asked and laughed. "Cool. But I'm going to have to pass," she said and looked down sadly. "I have to think about something for awhile... maybe another time..." she said.

 

Evan looked at him, "I was wondering if Becky was home....I'm here friend Evan....well used to be I guess..." he sighed.

 

"If you're really her friend, then you would have noticed days ago that she isn't here..." he said.


Becky waved to Angel and continued to walk down the street, staring at the ground.

 

"Impossible sir...I dropped her off here this afternoon....." Evan said thinking, "well thanks for your help I guess....." he said walking to his car and driving back to the school.

 

Becky's dad walked back inside.

Becky stopped at the crosswalk near the school and waited for the light to change.

 

Evan saw Becky and pulled up beside her, "were you headed home...." he asked looking down, "if so I could give you a ride home...."

 

"No I wasn't," she said. "I was headed to school." she started to walk across the cross walk, but did not see that the light was still red. She looked over and saw a car headed straight for her. She was frozen in fear.

 

"Becky!" Evan said ripping off his seatbelt and running out grabbing her and jumping out of the way. He landed on his back and with Becky on top of him, "he tried to lean up but winced and layed back down, "are you ok Becky...." he asked.

 

Becky just stared at Evan, her eyes still wide with fear. "You... saved me..." she said.

 

"Of course Becky....I love you...." Evan smiled but winced when he tried to give her a hug, "seems I got quite a burn when I landed on my back....but not that big of a deal...."
