Rising Population, Falling Average IQ.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but, many people (in the UK anyway) have lots of children not because they are "horny complusive idiots" (lol although quite a few are ;D) but because they get child benefits. A lot of time they are mooching off the state because they can't be bothered to get a job and have children to supplement their income >_>

An MP actually suggested that teenage girls should be sterilised for like 5 years so as to lower the alarming number of teenage pregnancies.

 

Its funny you say the world is getting stupider..... I agree..... But you are right because the
very first civilization (Sumerians) which came right out of the stone age..... Made a list of
all the solar systems planets, described them in great detail, and believed the world was round...
All their details about the planets are correct to every detail (They actually described every one)
and they didn't have the resources available to find out this stuff... Face it.... We're idiots now!

 

They weren't entirely accurate. It's just remarkable considering what they lacked. Much of it was based on their own mythology as well, so a great deal has been shown to be happenstance.

 

It's elusive, but I wouldn't say we're getting dumber because of what our forefathers were able to accomplish. Sure, they might've been able to account and produce remarkable things with an incredible lack of resources, but at the same time, we're only able to do many things at present because of the resources we have today.

Using resources that weren't available back then in order to complete tasks today doesn't make us dumber than earlier generations. Rather, the fact that we have these resources is proof of our advancement in intelligence. These 'resources' are actually a testament to our intelligence as a species. There's no shame in using something we created.
