Oddly enough, the last topic closed back in 2006...yeah, anyway, Rise Against is an awesome rock-like band and one of my favorites, my first song to hear by them being "Survive" in WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2007 ^_^.

Discuss this band and your favorite songs and CD's by them. I dunno, this is my first thread posted :yelling:

My favorites that I know of by them are "Prayer of the Refugee", "Drones", "Injection", "Paper Wings", "Ready To Fall", "The Good Left Undone", "Everchanging"...I could go on XD

    Edit:

Forgot to mention some info on Rise Against and politics (intelligent comments only please). All of the band's members are vegetarians and the band is an active supporter of PETA, and, recently, the band posted a bulletin on Myspace about a victory in treatment of chickens raised and killed for KFC's products. This band actually cares about nature and stuff, so you gotta give them some respect for not just being another rock band ^_^

I was wondering where that topic went.

Anyhoo, yeah, I have to thank the radio for exposing me to Rise Against. Turned me around from LP.

I got introduced to them by Tony Hawk's Underground, with Like the Angel.

But yeah, they're amazing. I own all of their CD's to date, aside from This is Noise. But I love them so. My favorite songs by them are Everchanging, their cover of Jawbreaker's Tour Song, The Approaching Curve, Survive, Behind Closed Doors, Torches, Swing Life Away, Faint Resemblance, Great Awakening, Weight of Time, Last Chance Blueprint, Like the Angel, ... Oh, I could go on forever.

I think the first time i had heard them was watching "Swing Life Away" on mtv or vh1 and the like, and i really really like that song. I've liked almost all the songs i've heard from them so far, but i've yet to buy one of their cd's. (jobless-ness sucks)

They are a great band. When I first them I confused them with Hundred Reasons. They both have very similar vocal styles and I heard of them both at the same time. XD For example - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFtSqsEhsIw

I've seen them live twice now. The first time was good, but it was obvious they were tired. But I saw them last weekend at the Download Festival, and they were much better and full of energy.

I only have 2 of their albums and some of their older songs. My favourite album from them is 'The Sufferer and the Witness' so many songs from that album I love. Last year on a trip I listened to Chamber the Cartridge on repeat for like 4 hours. XD

My favourite songs are Chamber the Cartridge, State of the Union and Ready to Fall

I love this band. My favorite songs are "Prayer of the Refugee" (which is also an awesome GH song), "Ready To Fall", and "The Good Left Undone".

    A-mazing.

That guy does sound similar to Tim McIlrath 0_o

Well, the younger Tim. He has a less "dirty" vocal style now.

I only like The Sufferer And The Witness, really. All the songs on that album are great. I love Roadside and The Good Left Undone most. <3

I've seen them live once, they put on an awesome show!

Misty introduced me to them. I guess I was living under a rock before then. . . Anyway, The Good Left Undone, Torches (I like the intro), and Survive would have to be my favorites. Trigger got to see them live. Lucky Duck.

I can't wait for the new album. Being a long time Rise Against fan, I'm happy to hear that this song sounds a bit like a blend between The Good Left Undone-The Unraveling (song and album)- and But Tonight we Dance. I hope they go back to the sound they established in The Unraveling, with a blend of what they had in Sufferer.

    *flails around*
Excellent...I love Rise Against, and I don't think I can pick any one favorite song because I like most of them. xD
But the ones I usually listen to are:
    The Good Left Undone
    Ready to Fall
    Swing Life Away
    Like the Angel
    Life Less Frightening
    Prayer of the Refugee

    Though Prayer of the Refugee is kinda mainstreamed now because of Guitar Hero III. >_>;;

I guess their album leaked. I wouldn't think all these songs would be out. |: I'll resist 'till it comes. I'M SO EXCITED.

By the way, Wolfie, you must buy their other CD's! You're missing some treasures. :3

I don't have all their CDs for the same reason I still don't have KotOR. xDD

Oh yeah, do you have the original version of Swing Life Away? Like...the non-Punk Goes Acoustic version?

    Buy Republic Commando. 3:

I'll add you on both. xD

    I really should look and see which of their songs I have. ^^;;

Ahurhur, who would that be? O:

I agree with four of your five favorites, only because I haven't listened to Behind Closed Doors yet. 8D
