To me it looks like the soul eater mixed with the one winged angel from the original final mix.

I noticed it when I first saw a close up picture of it, which was a really long time ago.

I think that whan he changed from Xehanort's Heartless (form) into Riku (form) his keyblade changed too. Remember, when he fought you in Land of Dragons he fought with Soul Eater.

Actually, the soul eater isn't a keyblade. He found his keyblade at some point before TWTNW, since he is seen with it before he attacks Saix.

Huh, you're right. But the question lies. Who or what gave him the Keyblade?

He's the Keyblade true master,i think he take the Keyblade he wants.
And that Keyblade is actually something related to Soul Eater, maybe even the Soul Eater itself with aKeychain, since after you beat Luxord he says it's called Soul Eater not Way To Dawn.

Yeah, I do see what you mean. It's a cross between Oblivion, Oathkeeper, , and Soul Eater. BTW, that was Gull Wing you showed, not One-winged Angel.

Yeah, I've never seen One-winged angel, so I can't really compare. Sorry.

Yeah, I can see why people thought that. Thanks.

Anywho, this makes me wonder: The keyblade seems to adapt to the physical characteristics of the keychain. Oblivion, and One-winged angel seem to represent the darkest parts of the keyblade, while Oathkeeper is probably the purest light. Is this a way to represent Riku? Full of evil and darkness, but at the same time, he has his light?

It's named after Sepheroth, but it's based on the Twilight Town scheme. The oranges and browns make that obvious.

No, that's not what I mean; I mean is the way to dawn a representation of Riku, by being pieced from different keyblades like one winged angel, oblivion, and oathkeeper?

I really have no hypothesis as to how his keyblade looks like that.

All we can do is wait for 358 to explain some of this...hopefully.

Thats the missing part. It doesn't show how he got it. 358/2 must explain it. It might have some thing to do with the 14th member.

He doesn't -get- the Keyblade from somewhere. It is Soul Eater altered to a Keyblade. The name of the Keyblade becomes 'Way to the Dawn' but Riku even identifies the Keyblade as Soul Eater in TWTNW.

Basically the logical explanation would be that the sword changed from a Darkness weapon just as Riku changed on his path of Twilight to the Dawn. The final kicker was Ansem's little device and boom since he was changed back to Riku and pretty much took the blast full bore as he protected others. However, the sword was different before that point so the change began probably happened somewhere between LoD and TWTNW and Riku, of course, is still going to call it Soul Eater.

Also, I'd guess the reason the blade's name is Way to the Dawn and how it looks is based on Riku being of Darkness but also Light and accepting both in harmony as he works on improving himself.

to me, its the soul eater(dark) mixed with the light (feathers) to make a keyblade of twilight.
