Kingdom Hearts II Riku's height

So I was thinking lately, that puberty kicking in aside, that there just might be a reason for Riku to have grown that big and strong and tall during the year of Sora's sleep.
Yes, I know, he's a teenager that went through 15 to 16 and kept a... healthy lifestyle at least as far as physical activity is concerned (no idea what DiZ fed him though... then again seeing how Riku was the one cleaning the place up, he probably fed himself and Namine too =3 lawl), but I couldn't help but wonder.

What if Riku's growth sprout was his body's attempt at keeping up with Xehanort's sense of self? He morphed into him, and judging by certain trailers, he went back and forth with it.
We know for a fact there was a constant struggle for dominance within his being, hence the blindfold - to keep Xehanort's Heartless at bay.
So maybe, just maybe, it wasn't just hormones and genes kicking in - at least, not his own?

Well, I think Sora has grown more, but I get what you're saying.

 

Wow... I mean i never looked at it that way... but I suppose its possible. Even though that kinda sounds like something that would be on Lost instead of Kingdom Hearts. But if that was true than that's something they didn't expect many people to get. Because I shore didn't ;)

 

Well, he was taller than them anyway.... but not THAT tall. Maybe it's the DiZ food...

 

I just thought he looked hot. That's all i cared about!! XD Lol.

Well, the Darkness does all sorts of magical things, like turning Xehanort much tanner in both Heartless and Nobody forms, so why not help Riku out a bit?

 

MY GOD!!! Now that I think about it...he IS too tall, even for a guy a year older than me....*is jealous of Riku's hotness and WANTS IT*

 

Like Sora, I assume the Square Enix wanted it to look like a year had passed and he grew taller. It also makes sense if you think about it, because guys get growth spurts at a later age than girls do. He looks better in KHII anyways.

thats an interesting theory. i think he did grow abnormally tall from xehanort. but as everyone else did maybe it's just for show.

 

Riku was taller then Sora, and older. So, there was no question that hes just taller, older, and puberty had hit him already, so hes older, mature, and larger. I don't think darkness has anything to do with your height. Look at Xehanort scientist to Xemnas. Same height.

 

I didn't say the Darkness was what affected him though. I said Xehanort's Heartless being inside him did. Xehanort's Heartless already changed Riku's Body to look like his own, and Riku kept morphing into his form and back. I don't think something like this could go without having side-effects, being that Riku's Body was affected by Xehanort, and so tried to 'catch up' to Xehanort's height, while still as Riku. That way, the difference when he morphed would've been smaller, and thus, put less strain on the vessel.

What gets me too is how tan Diz but Ansem is sooo not tan. How does that happen?

 

Ansem the Wise used the Darkness to hide his appearance, so that neither the Organization as well as Mickey won't be able to recognize him.

 

he did grow awfully fast.....like.......freakishly so.....so did his hair......*shrugs*

 

...I'm the kind of person you doesn't get smartical about things. I leave them be. I'm going to awe over the fact that Ansem deh Wise is whiter then sour cream, and Diz is dirt tan.

 

I think that was normal; yeah, mainly puberty, 15-16 type stuff, but the main reason he's so much taller is that he's older than Sora and co. That's pretty much the year when the growth spurts normally occur.

 

the diz food had testosterone as its main ingredient. 10 grams. i just know it did. <---- just joking.

its hormones for being around namine. cross your legs namine for god's sake at least wear a longer dress

I doubt it's that important that he grew so much. The creators were probably just trying to make him look cooler. But you never know, you might be onto something.:star-wars-smiley-02

 

guys usually start growing after girls, around 15-17 years of age. It would make sense that Riku and Sora would change the most during these years.
