Kingdom Hearts II Riku in Land of Dragons

Well, we know it was Riku in Land of Dragons, and we know he helped out the Emperor, but why? Why was he there? And why did he fight Sora? To test his strength?

 

Riku's main goal probably was to warn the emperor in the first place. Sora also was the one who started chasing Riku and began to fight him. Since Riku didn't want to be found he defended himself against Sora and then ran away

 

Probably, didn't want any trouble if something happened later on. Who Knows anyway?

 

Riku said that he was waiting for sora to catch on which ended up fighting him to get him to catch on.

 

i think he fought sora because he couldnt let his identity be shown, if sora had beaten riku there it would have led to many problems​

 

It was Riku

Riku went up the mountain to see if he could defeat the dragon then fought fought Sora because he wanted to get him out of the way when he got up the mountain, knowing the dragon would rise then.(he couldnt fight it with Sora around because Sora knew his skills and would easily find out but in the battle with him, he didnt use many of his skills).Then he had no choice but to warn the Emperor because the dragon got too far with the distraction of Sora.
He warned the Emperor and called Xigbar so Sora could get off track of his thoughts of it being Riku.



Thats my theory.
