Kingdom Hearts riku has a heart?

how does the organization even do its recruiting anyway? mabey he turned em down.

 

Well Roxas was just found in Twilight Town by Xemnas (Or Axel, I can't remember, but eventually he was lead to the gate of the mansion and was named by Xemnas)
It's not very clear how they recruit considered there are so few of them, but like normal nobodies, special ones can only be born in worlds in between like the world that never was.It's likely they are just found in a world by another member and offered to join. Being in a different world, without emotions and with the promise of given a heart of their own they really have no other choice but to join. It's also possible that the organization has a network of camera in many of the worlds, that would help explain how they knew what was going on in those worlds when giving out missions in 358/2 Days.

If he could use the Keyblade, I doubt Xemnas would just let him go. And if he couldn't use the Keyblade, he's all alone. There is also the chance he might not have any memories of his time as a human like Roxas, since his other is alive and didn't lose his memories. But in this case he would still have been like how Roxas was after joining the organization and kinda like a puppet. And besides considering how much Riku has mettled in their affairs I'm sure the Organization would have brought it up that he has a nobody. I really could see Saix, saying something about that to Riku to sike him out and distract him.

Now for the sake of argument, there is the possibility that he never encountered them and was never met by any of the main characters. But in a series that tends to drop hints to future developments, it would be very strange for Riku's nobody to just appear like that. Kinda like how we saw Xemnas in KH1 final mix, or Ventus in 358/2 Days.

Anyway, the question of how a pureblood is made is a tough one to answer, but Riku probably remained human (technically anyway) because it was a heartless that posessed his body. Just because he ended up in the RoD, doesn't mean he has to turn into a heartless. I mean he was strong enough to hold Ansem back for that small amount of time after Sora disappeared in Hollow Bastion, so maybe he held back the darkness that totally wanted to consume his heart. Maybe the question of creating a pureblood isn't in losing your heart alone... maybe you also have to lose your spirit.

 

There already was a host in his body. So, he didn't turn into a heartless. Also, the whole fake body is streching it a bit, even for Sora's case.

But your heart doesn't necessarily have to be "at the breaking point". Look at Sora, he willingly gave up his heart, it wasn't about to break or anything...

I think you have to lose your will to live or your will to fight back the darkness to become a heartless. Sora didn't wanna see Kairi like that so he let darkness take him so Kairi would be saved.

 

I say he was just more possessed by Ansem, and his heart kept fighting off the darkness from consuming him whole, so he kept some light. Plus his intentions were good, he just wanted to save Kairi, and knew the Keyblade was the only thing that could do it.

 

to create a Heartless, i think, the heart has to be consumed by darkness. Riku's heart wasnt consumed by darkness: there was still some light in it when he got forced out by Ansem SoD. so, he didnt become a Heartless, just a walking heart. i think in Final Mix 1, there was a cutscene where Mickey was talking to him, but he was glowing, which i think means he was just a walking heart. as for why he had no Nobody, at the end of KHI, he wasnt glowing anymore when he closed the Door. after Ansem SoD was destroyed, he left Riku's body, right? Riku's body didnt get destroyed too. i think that it returned to him, because he wasn't a Heartless.

 

A Heartless is created when a person has lost their heart, and the Heartless itself is the lost heart, manifesting as a body. (Heartless is the heart, the entirety of it.) So when Sora stabbed himself and lost his body, his heart left him and became his Heartless, the manifestation of his heart.

Riku never lost his heart in the first place, the only thing he lost was control of his body, possessed by Ansem SoD. If Riku would have lost his heart, the heart would have become a Heartless and a Nobody would have been made, which I'm sure would have been introduced by now.

 

i never at any point said he lost his heart. in fact, i very blantantly stated why i thought he didnt lose his heart and how come i thought he never had a Nobody. he never became a Heartless because he didnt lose his heart, and because he was never a Heartless, he never made a Nobody.

 

It may have something to do with how Maleficent gave him the power to control the heartless. That and how Xehanort possessed him.

 

Can anyone please say where you get the whole walking heart thing? I'm really thinking it sounds like a bit of a strech. I'm not so sure there are such things as walking hearts.

 

i know he didn't lose his heart but my question is WHY. he had plenty enough darkness in it to do so

 

My guess would be that he just is very accustom to darkness just as Sora is accustom to light. It could also be due to the fact he has a strong heart so he could battle the darkness and control it, like Terra.

Perhaps Riku is also kept from turning into a heartless by the light that Mickey keeps giving him, he seems to suffer a great deal in CoM but Mickey helps out. He managed to stay away from being completely consumed by darkness.

So Riku's nobody looks like young MX?

This makes NO sense to me.

As we've already stated, if Riku did in fact have a nobody, at any point in time, it would've been revealed in the series by now like Roxas...

Spoiler: Birth By Sleep Final Ending

In the BbS Final ending (after you beat the final episode) it shows Terra and MX struggling for control over the body of the 'new' Xehanort. When he became a Heartless and created a Nobody, I believe that their hearts might've been split into each. MX into Ansem, and Terra into Xemnas. Maybe Riku didn't create a Nobody because there was still a heart in his body, even though his own had been sent into the RoD.

That doesn't necessarily mean that young MX is Riku's nobody. Look, MX used to live on the Destiny Islands. MX could just represent what Riku could've become one day. He could've turned into MX if Sora hadn't continually been there to set him straight. MX didn't have anyone, he only had jealousy for his comrade (Eraqus) who was given a position that HE wanted. Riku was jealous because Sora found Donald and Goofy and, seemingly, forgot about Kairi completely. Plus, Sora had the keyblade when Riku knew that he was the rightful master (after Terra's ceremony). Not to mention Maleficent's temptations and suggestions. The difference was having a friend to help when you need it the most (Aqua's telling Sora to always be there for Riku was like a promise to do just this). Eraqus and MX were like brothers but after their master played favorites they grew further apart.
