Folks, this is what I believe. And please help me with your own views and opinions but keep it positive okay?

(SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT PLAYED KH2!!!!!)

Because I'm new, I won't have many pics up but I will have my own opinions ready and rarin to go.

Here are my reasons why I believe that Riku and Ansem/Xehanort/Xemnas are related in some way (I think they're father and son):

    1) In Chain of Memories, Zexion specifically says that Riku smells like the superior. The manga even mentions that they smell "extremely similar". (This is one of the most important reasons)

    2) Ansem tells Riku in CoM that the scent of darkness is bred in his bones indicating some sort of dark ancestory.

    3) Physical appearance: Silver hair, muscular build, and power over darkness.

    4) (Another very, very important one) Their moves are extremely similar. If you look at Another Side, Another Story, Deep Dive, watch very closely the moves that Riku uses when fighting Roxas. Then, in the Sora vs. Xemnas battle when Xemnas uses an illusion of The World That Never Was, watch the scenes of Xemnas's moves when using reaction commands against him. The moves used between the two of them are identical.

Please PLEASE give me feedback on this. I'd love to know what you think!!!!! Positive reviews are always appreciated!!!! Thank you very much guys!!!! :D

I already looked at the possibility of Xehanort being Riku's father.
And I think its very possible.
Also, the fact that we know nothing of their parents is a plus.
I think Xehanort may be related to Riku, but not his father. Sora and Kairi should know something if he was.

Good point. But I still think they're related somehow. Another one of my theories is that the soldier that we've been seeing in the secret video (the one without half of his mask on) is Sora's dad. Let's face it, they look exactly the same in the pic. [IMG]

Look familiar? But that theory doesn't have as much proof as my other one.

    Here's a better shot:

    And who's the mother? Maleficent?

    Seems possible.

    How do you know that?

I always wondered about their parents and thats where this theory came from. We hear mention of them in the manga and the games but no more than two or three times. And even then we don't really know if they exist because they're referred to as 'family'. Where's Nomura when you need him!!!!!

Sora's mom is in the first game. before he jumos out his bedroom window you can hear his mom say
    "Sora! Dinner's ready. Sora?"
    Or something like that.

Oh Yeah!! I remember that part. I've only played KH1 twice but I've played KH2 four or five times. Is that obsessed or what?

Everything about KH3 is sounding like it's all about their parents trying to get their kids back. It makes sense but with the way Nomura thinks, just watch me be totally off.

I can totally see where you're coming from on this...even though Xehanort's Heartless WAS the one that had used Riku's body before (therefore making him smell like Xemnas) they DO look very similar...not to mention the fact that they're all kinda pessimistic.

Thanks for bringing this up! It gives me something to ponder...

Thanks! I've got so many mixed views about that secret trailer and about KH3 but this is the only one that sticks out as being fairly reasonable. Thanks for the feed.

And people! Let me know if their is anything to prove this theory wrong!! If so, I will totally forget about it!

Really, you're too hard on yourself!

Another thing you might want to throw into consideration is that Riku was completely unafraid of the darkness and even seemed to know that change was on the horizon...maybe he knew the whole thing was happening!

Sorry, I just had to say that ^.^

It's an interesting theory...but there are some issues with it...my numbers correspond to yours.
    1. Couldn't that have had something to do with Ansem being in Riku's heart? After all Riku himself said he could smell Ansem at one point in CoM.
    2. Couldn't that have had something to do with Ansem being there once again? Or bred being used as a metaphorical term for how Riku was almost raised( albeit for a very short time) as a servant of the dark by Maleficent?
    3. Didn't Riku's mastery of darkness come from the possession by Ansem? Given that he couldn't truly weild it until the second fight in KH1 when Ansem was in control. Also on the hair and darkness thing, you could easily make the same point and prclaim Sephiroth and Riku to be related. It'snot that decisive a point.
    4. Quite a few things in KHII have similar moves and commands. This doesn't necessarily imply blood relation.

Another good point. Well, I guess I was just looking at it from a 'hopeful' standpoint. But I still think it's weird that Riku and Xemans have pretty much the same moves. It's also the same with Sora and Roxas. They have the same moves in Deep Dive and the Sora/Xemnas boss fight but, of course, we all know that Sora and Roxas are somebody and nobody.

I never really saw anything else that was similar. Could you point some out to me?

Hm, interesting. You made good points.

I really don't think father/son, nor do I think they are related in any way. But still, you made some good points.
