Reverse This Curse

"Can't exactly say the same to you." Yuka muttered in a quiet voice, and nearby humans would assume that she was lip speaking. She crossed her arms and observed Chiyon's face, her brown-yellow eyes were intimidating but not to her. Sitting in front of her was the purest and most powerful vampire in existence, someone with experience in fighting and hunting down rebel groups.

Chiyon let out a muffled chuckle, she never broke her gaze from Yuka for a second. She was trying to fugure out why Yuka looked so tense in her presence. It was only a theory but she decided to test something out. "Hey Yuka, have you heard anything about the leader of the Resistance lately?"

Yuka put on an emotionless mask, she had a hunch at where this could possibly go if she made a mistake and she inwardly shuddered at the thought of the punishment she would receive. Before Chiyon could suspect anything she spoke. "No I haven't," she lied. "Good luck finding her- them though." Yuka inwardly face-palmed herself at the stuff up, Chiyon would definitely catch on now.

Chiyon raised an eyebrow, Yuka knew something and she wasn't telling her. She decided to play along and pretend that she didn't notice her stuff-up. "Oh okay. Well I'll see you another time then." Chiyon got up from her seat and walked out of the cafe, she ignored the people that were staring at her face since she now had her hoodie down.

BIC: Aly tilted her head, looking him over again. "Most vampires are old fashioned." she murmured to herself, flipping her knife back and forth on her palm. Attack? or listen? She sighed, nver thinking she would find herself in a situation like this with a vampire, then slowly put the knife away. He wasn't the one who destroyed her mother, his voice was different anyhow. "So what if you cause my fear?" she asked finally.

 

"It's as I thought, you direct your fear towards my kind from past experience, most humans are like this", Rik stated sounding old, "You should learn the true direction of your hatred and fear, it could make you stronger", he chuckled sinisterly as he walked away. He had an idea that she would be useful, maybe even for the resistance.

 

She sighed in relief, picking up her bags again. Heading home, she put the strange vampire out of her mind, and focused on her plans for the evening. She needed to start training again......she hadn't realized how out of shape she was.

 

Yuka sat frozen in her chair, figuring out how long it would take Chiyon to figure out she was the Resistance leader. She started to panic a little at what Chiyon would do to her if she found out. It sent shivers down her spine when she thought about it again.

Chiyon walked down the busy street, the sides were packed full of people that were staring at her and then whispering to someone beside themselves. She started to feel a little irritated as they talked behind her back but she pressed on and continued walking down the street. No one would dare try and attack her in public, unless they were wanting a deathwish.

 

Veronica held onto her arm as she walked towards her window. She closed her eyes for a brief moment, taking a deep breath. When she opened her eyes, she stared out the window, leaning against the wall. I should probably go back out there. she thought to herself. I could always...patrol. Veronica showed a weak smile, walking towards her weapons. She grabbed both her sword and revolver, leaving her home.

 

To try and busy her mind so she didn't have to think about it again for a long while, Yuka jogged out of the cafe and walked down the streets with her hands in the pockets of her black denim jeans. She didn't look up in front of her as she walked, she didn't need to with her extra sensitive senses and all.
She started to remember back to the day when she helped protect the old Vampire City, which was now the base for the Resistence, she was fatally injured and to save herself she sank her fangs into her old comrade's arm. Because he was a genetic experiment when he was human she got his blood mixed into her system and it dramatically changed her DNA, making her something that was more monstrous than a twisted and sinister vampire. Only two people knew of this, that was herself and her old friend, Kaji. Who for all she knew was long dead.

 

Aly sighed, setting the bags down and leaning against the counter, closing her eyes. She was always so tired....why was she always so tired. Tapping her fingers against the stone countertop, she sighed, then began to put the food away, her eyes thoughtful. She always thought about philosophical questions when alone. Was there ever going to be a time when she was not alone? The question made her smile. She knew the plain and simple answer as she shut th cupboard. No.

 

Yuka started to ponder on the reason why she created the Resistance. The group had become a symbol of hope to those who did not side with Chiyon, a beacon of light. But they hadn't made a move in so long, because the last time they acted the consequence was that half the members were killed within the blink of an eye by an aggravated Chiyon. That was something Yuka would not forget for a long time. At that time her appearance had been completely different, because of the ability she got from Kaji's blood. Yuka started to wonder if the abilities she inherited would actually be of any good to everyone, apart from just herself.
Yuka kept walking for quiet some time until she came to a familiar forest that she used to live in, with a determined look pulled onto her face she sprinted into the gathering of trees until she stopped in front of an old rusty sewer lid which she opened with ease. With a heavy sigh she jumped inside and walked down the smoothed out cobble stone path that lead the old Vampire City.

 

Rik continued to walk the streets, he overheard whisperings of people that Chiyon was near the cafe he had passed not so long ago. Without a monents notice he headed off in pursuit of Chiyon, he wanted to test his strength against that of his former commander from hundereds of years ago.

 

Chiyon stopped near one of the gates that acted as an entrance and exit to the Citadel, she leaned against one of the pillars and pinched the bridge of her nose between her index finger and thumb. She really felt like hitting someone or something right now, badly. Before she caused any collateral damage to the area surrounding her she leapt up onto the gate and jumped down onto the other side of it and sat down there.

 

Aly tapped the counter again, creating a rhythm. She sighed, then stopped, going to her room. It was small, but clean. Under the bed was a case of knives, a bow in the closet, and a sword in her dresser. She smiled, going to the rug in the middle of the floor, and sitting cross legged on it, closing her eyes. Breathing in and out slowly, she began to meditate.

 

Chiyon drew her sword from its aged leather sheath and started swinging it around, stretching her muscles and keeping her mind of the 'forbidden' area of her mind. When she was reborn, she vowed to herself that she would never tread that area in her mind again but it didn't stop her subconscious from wondering around if she rested for a while. The one thing she envied about humans, was that they could sleep. Sleep and dream away their worries and awaken fresh. But this also made her think more dark thoughts... When humans slept, they were usually at their most vulnerable state, it would already be too late for them to open their eyes and defend themselves by the time a vampire had sunk their fangs into them and drained them dry.
With a frustrated grunt, Chiyon slid her sword back into its leather sheath and sat back down in the ground. It was rare that she was alone by herself and she realized why she always wanted to be in the company of at least one person, to stop herself from going back into her memories she had as a human. Somewhere in the citadel not far off from where she was, she sensed a familiar scent, one of an old subordinate from god knows how long ago. Chiyon merely smiled to herself and snickered. "So he actually got revived..." she muttered darkly.

 

Rik's skin tingled as he drew closer to Chiyon's location, he could feel her strength from this distance and it forced the injury that will never heal on his left arm to pulse. He was excited. It could be considered insanity, but to regain his power he was going to need to fight those from his past and release himself from the control of whoever revived him.
Finally he could see and smell Chiyon, he drew his sword the moment he spotted her. He could tell she was ready.

 

Within not even the blink of an eye, Chiyon drew out her sword again and flickered behind Rik. She let her arm holding the sword hang at her side, she was waiting for the exactly right moment to counter Rik's movement. She was well known for her deadly skill with a blade and with battle tactics and only people who were insane would try to challenge her in a battle of steel. "It's been a while," Chiyon said darkly, she rested the blade of the sword on her right shoulder. "Shouldn't be surprised though. Seeing as though you were meant to be revived."
Chiyon chuckled a hair raising chuckle and glared at Rik, he was going to strike any moment now, she could feel it emanating off him and truthfully, she was excited as well. Rik was one of the very few people that were alive that could have a possibility of even beating her in a duel.

 

"Meant to be revived?", Rik quoted the moment before spinning and stiking with his long, heavy sword waiting for it to be parried by Chiyon, he didn't expect to get close to a hit yet. Chiyon rivaled his swordsmanship which made her a fun opponent for Rik. He was determined to gain some of his strength back from fighting Chiyon. It wasn't his goal to kill her, at least not yet.

 

Chiyon chuckled again. "Maybe I said too much." she said with sarcastic innocence. She parried of his strike and jumped back a couple of feet. She could tell this was going to be a fun battle. And what made her even more excited was the fact that they were outdoors and not in the citadel, which gave her more freedom to use her power and strength in the battle. She circled Rik a couple of times before breaking into a sprint, she ran up the outside wall of the citadel and when she got to the top she gathered power in her legs and jumped into mid air. She twisted around and flew down at Rik with her sword pointing down at him, she was half expecting him to parry the attack and half expecting him to narrowly dodge it.

 

Rik lifted his armoured left arm above his head as Chiyon dropped closer to him. "Don't tell me you've forgot about my little skill", he said as a blast of black fire burst from his hand and spiralled towards the airborne Chiyon. Seems i've regained some of my power.

Chiyon was a little surprised as the ball of black fire came spiralling towards her, she made a quick decision to doge roll in mid air to get out of its path, she managed to get out of the way but her cloak was not so lucky. She landed effortlessly on the ground in front of Rik. One thing was for certain, his skill had not deminished much at all. In fact he was gaining power as they fought. "It seems you did not come here in an attempt to kill me," Chiyon strided toward him, she let her sword-holding arm hang by her side. "But in an attempt to regain your lost memories and powers."
Chiyon slipped her sword back into its sheath, what she was planning on doing next required both arms for it to successfully work. "You know you catch on..." She jumped up into the air once again but this time she had her right arm straight out in front of her, aiming for the ground below her. "Pretty quickly!" At that moment her fist met with the ground. At first there was nothing but it was a moment after her fist made contact that there was a small cracking noise. A second later the ground beneath both her and Rik completely shattered.

ooc: For some reason I am thinking of what Sakura did in the first few episodes of Shippuuden, then I look at the end of my post. And then I realise that the similarities are disturbing me.
