Revelations (Re-made)

Gabriel laughed, his white wings folding behind his back, "I'd tell you but I'm afraid Maddie might tackle me."

Gabe ran over to Forrest, "Whoa, bud that was so cool. Uh, dad, what are you exactly?"

 

Maddie looked at Gabe then to Gabriel. "Wait, he doesn't KNOW?!"

Yuri came up to them, spinning he sword around in mid-air. "Now, who keeps secrets from there own family, especially ones like that, buut, I'm not one to judge..."

 

Apil watched Yuri spin his sword in amazement, "That's awesome" She muttered.

 

"What secrets? what family? mine didnt want me..."

 

Gabriel scratched the back of his head nervously, "Well, no I didn't tell him. He's just a boy and...well I haven't been able to...I..."

Gabe smiled at the girl he still didn't know, "You think that's cool?" He pulled his blade from it's black sheath and took an offensive stance, pointing the blade at his father, "Ready, Dad? If I win, you tell me what you are, if not, I'll figure it out."

Gabriel sighed, "Gabranth, don't you think this is a little too early for you to be picking fights." When Gabe didn't let up, he held his hand out and a long Katana flashed into it, "You've brought this upon yourself."

 

April smiled, giggling slightly and watched with fascination. She had to learn to do that someday.

 

Yuri sheathed his sword. "Oooh exiting!"

 

April grinned, she kinda wished she could join in but she didn't know anything about swords.

 

Gabriel twirled his Katana, "Sure, but I won't go easy on you. I'm not saying you won't get in a few lucky hits, but win? I don't think so." he chuckled.

Gabe made the first move. Rushing Gabriel, he swiped his sword at his midsection. Gabriel easily blocked it. The sound of metal clashing rang throughout the school campus. Gabe pushed against his father's strength on the other side of the opposing Katana, "Not bad....for an old man."

 

April's eyes glimmered with excitement and she unconciously created a mood aura causing everyone around her to get a sudden adrenilin rush.

 

Gabriel laughed, "An old man, huh? Can old men do this?" He thust Gabe back and flipped through the air until he landed behind Gabe. He hit him with the hilt of the sword in his back, forcing Gabe to his knees.

Gabe jumped to his feet and slashed behind him at Gabriel. Again his blade hit the Katana.

Gabriel smiled, "If anyone's counting, that's me: 1, Gabranth: 0. Boy, you'll have to step it up a bit to beat your father."

Gabe pushed him back, barely. "Tell me what you are!"

Gabriel could feel his son's frustration, "You'll have to tone that anger into something else Gabranth. Getting frustrated with our fight isn't going to help you win." He slashed his sword out and a wave of white energy was flung out at him.

Gabe's brown eyes widened and was slammed into the ground by the energy, "Oof, w-what was that?"

 

April gasped as she watched, "What happened?"

 

Gabriel huffed and his Katana disappeared, "C'mon Gabranth. I win," he extended a hand out to help his son up.

Gabe growled as he stood up, ignoring his father's hand, "I don't know what that was, but I won't admit defeat."

Gabriel stepped back, predicting his son's slash as it came after he stood. The blade slit his sleeve, "You've lost Gabranth, but I'll tell you what I am anyway. We're angels."

Gabe's jaw dropped and he dropped his sword, his brain screaming, 'What?! Angels don't exist!'

 

"Oh brother, not ANOTHER ONE!" Maddie screamed, nearly ripping out her hair in frustration.

"Okay, kid. If Angels don't exist, how'd you explain that thing you dad just did? Let me guess, Smoke and Mirrors?"

 

Gabe looked from his father to Yuri to Maddie, "Th-then you guys are angels too? Wh-why are we here then? I'm not an angel." his voice raising an octave.

Gabriel picked up his son's sword and sheathed it back in it's sheath, "Yeah, they're angels too. Don't worry about it so much Gabranth." He looked over a Yuri, "Haha, smoke and mirrors. Isn't that getting a little cliched Yuri?"

 

Yuri took out his sword again and began doing kicky-ups with it. "Probably, I couldn't think of anything." He kicked his sword up high then caught it on his foot. "Speaking of which, why were you sent here? Gabe?"

 

The words to explain died on Gabe's tongue. He dropped his eyes to the ground and took his sword back from Gabriel, whispering, "I can't tell them...you do it."

Gabriel frowned at his son, "Alright." Gabriel ran a hand through his hair, "Gabranth here, uh, wow this is actually difficult to explain without making him a bad guy. Um, he killed a girl, simple enough? I don't know the details of it but my wife does if anyone wants to call her and bother her. She's a bit grumpy of late but I'm sure she'd be thrilled for a call from you Yuri." he said sarcastically.

 

"I see..." He scratched the back of his head. "Well, I sincerely hope it wasn't your fault entirely.." He grabbed his sword and started twirling it around, looking at Gabriel. "Sorcha? No, No, No, NO! She scares me to death half the time. Though, I'm not to sure why she hates me like she does...Guess it must have something to with Her and Rita in the past."

 

Gabriel lifted his hands and shrugged, "Who knows. She keeps all that locked away in her head." He opened his mouth to add more but Gabe had started to speak.

"It....it was....it was my fault. I...I shouldn't..." Gabriel put his hand on his shoulder and Gabe flinched, "I shouldn't have been so rough. She's dead because of me!" His hands tightened around his sword, "Please, father, don't say you'll make sure that won't happen again. What'll happen when I marry? Will I kill my bride too?!"

Gabriel couldn't find anything to say. He shut his eyes to his son's pain and gripped Gabranth's shoulder tightly.
