Revelations (Re-made)

Gabe grinned at the girls and stared at all the things, "Should I be concerned for my health?" He closed his hand around the cloth and shrugged off Eliza's concern, "I'm fine, or I will be until Gabriel catches a glance at this." He didn't sound concerned and randomly sat in the middle of the room. He almost gave April a nervous smile, but caught himself and slipped back onto his carefree look.

 

"If you say so but be sure to get it checked out" Eliza said, dropping it slightly reluctantly. She smiled at them with a smile that seemed similar to April, before turning to make sure everyone else got in okay, "We'll start as soon as everyone's in".

April smiled shyly at Gabe, she was hovering beside some chairs, she didn't want the responsibility of choosing where they sat but Gabe nor Maddie seemed to be sitting down and she couldn't stand up forever.

 

Gabe wandered over to April and guestured for her to sit, "Ladies first."

 

April grinned with relieg and sat down, "Why thank you"

 

Maddie sat down next to April, she was noticing some kind of lovey-dovey stuff going on between her two friends, she hoped they wouldn't do it in every class.

 

Eliza smiled as everyone sat down, "Okay guys, to get you settled in we're going to start off with a variety of experiments that are already set up around the room. Again, please don't touch quite yet. However first we've got to get the boring stuff out of the way. On your tables there is a list of rules each, mostly common sense stuff. You guys know not to drink chemicals or chuck them at each other, right? Well just read through the rules, sign at the bottom to say you've read them and pass it to the end. Okay?" She sighed and smiled, while she waited for them to do it.

April quickly read through the list, it was just the usual and obvious stuff for the most part, and scribbled her name at the bottom.

 

Maddie followed suit. Making sure she had memorised every last rule first though.

 

Gabe sighed, science and fragile objects all in the same room. For a guy his signature was rather neat and fancy. Sorcha and Gabriel had made sure their son could sign like a gentlemen of back in the day. He flipped between the names of Delliger and Coran for his independence but signed as a Coran. His hand gave a burning pulse and his skin itched. "My father doesn't believe in science much. But mom says it's without feeling, much like when you fight with a sword. If your an angel, like everyone around here seems to insist, then why do angels need science if you could just create it out of thin air? Like how Gabriel made that sword." his brown eyes focused on her with an intensity he gave his parents when he asked a serious question.

BIC: Eliza smiled and shook her head, "No, I assure you science is very much neccessary. Science helps us to understand the world around us shows us the simple beauty of life and how incredible it is. It shows if you look close enough, even ordinary things become extrodinary. It does have feeling but you have to understand and look for it first. Science makes senseless things make sense and helps us with almost every aspect of our life. It helps us to create technologies, for even as angels we can not do everything, we each have our indervidual skills. Science helps people to achieve their full potential. I hope I will be able to make you see through your parents beliefs"

bic: Gabe sighed, for once in the day, he'd paid attention to what she said. "Alright ma'am, if you say so. Science is what my mother says she's doing, but Gabriel says otherwise. Buddy, he's pretty insane, I'm sure." His attention diverted itself to his hand again, it was still burning, "Ow, why does this hurt so much. It didn't a moment before."

 

Eliza sighed, "Well let's see if by the end of the year you still have that opinion." She frowned, "Are you sure you don't want to get that hand checked out?"

"You okay?" April asked Gabe, she'd been listening to them talk with interest before. Though personally, despite her denying it to her mum, she thought science was a good thing and it wasn't half bad. Maybe, she had considered before, it was in her genes.

 

Gabe shook his hand and unbound his hand. Several holes in his hand from the mace had already healed shut, which was wierd enough, but the others now bled consistently. "Ah, I think I should."

Almost as if on a cue, Gabriel poked his head into Eliza's classroom, "Hey, Eliza, have you seen a certain book of mine. I think I left it out somewhere, it's just gone and now I'm starting to...Gabe? Are you alright, Gabranth?"

Gabe closed his hand on the holes and blood and grinned at his father, "I'm great. Just spiffy, sir."

Gabriel frowned at him.

 

Eliza quickly glanced between Gabe and Gabriel, not really sure she wanted to get involved. "What does this book like or what's it called? I might have seen it." She said in response to his question and hoping that would distract him for Gabe. She was slightly worried about Gabe's hand but she wasn't convinced Gabriel's presence would help.

 

Gabriel's blue eyes turned back to Eliza, "Ah, it's a dark blue velvet book. Very old, hard to mistake, I'm sure. It doesn't really have a title printed on it but it's called the Book of Enoch. I can't loose this book, Sorcha will kill me if it's lost." He turned his wedding ring around on his finger.

Gabe stiffened, "Maybe you just misplaced it. You are a bit of a space case."

Gabriel laughed and just as suddenly his face was grave, "Maybe, but if any of you do see it, don't open it and please don't read it. It will literally scream at you, probably just a bunch of nonsense, but it's a spelled book and well, I advise you to stear clear of the thing."

 

"Dark blue velvet book...no I can't say I have. But if I do see it, you will be the first to know" Eliza answered, she didn't like the sound of it. She generally stayed away from magic, especially the dark variety. Though she did use her powers and she had tried a little healing magic. However, for the most part she prefered her science, much more predictable(ish), less dire consequences if something went wrong and she knew what she was doing when it came to science.

 

Gabriel gave her a grateful smile and moved to stand over Gabe, "Let me see your hand, Gabranth."

Gabe jerked and tucked his wounded hand under the table, "It's fine. You don't have to make a big deal out of this."

Gabriel sighed and forcefully pulled his hand into his own, "I said let me see it." Unwrapping the wound he made a soft noise and let the disappointment fill his blue eyes, "Gabranth, you were in Yuri's toys? I told you to stay away from weapons until you had that temper of yours under control."

Gabe growled, "It is under control." he didn't move to defend himself and he could see Gabriel was beginning to make up his mind and remove him from class.

 

"Gabriel, please. Not here, not now. I believe you are teaching him next, you can do what you want to do then, but please not in my lesson. I've got stuff to teach and you're not helping. This is personal, so please do it in your own time. I will sort out his hand and make sure he comes to no harm or get's into no mischeif, while I'm in control, in fact he was actually making a positive contribution to the lesson before you came in. I'd very much like to see that continue." She did not like to go against Gabriel, but she did not like what was happening and how the whole class was watching.

 

Maddie glanced around her and noticed all the other kids and sure enough they were staring directly at Gabe. She bit her nail, Gabe's wound was pretty much her fault, if she hadn't tossed a freaking mace at him he might still be okay...

 

Gabe winced as Gabriel's fingers pressed against a part that was bleeding, his face contorted with pain and he dropped his head to the table.

Gabriel opened his mouth to argue with Eliza, but she was right, he pulled out a small green bottle from his pocket and rubbed it on Gabe's wound, "Forgive me Eliza, you are right as always. But I fear you would not know how to deal with a Nephilim wound. It will only take a minute and I'll be gone. Gabranth, please do continue your brilliance when I leave." he smiled at his son and continued to wrap his hand in a thin strip of linen.

Gabe heard his father's footsteps move away from him and the door shut and his hand had stopped burning, "That could've gone worse. I expected him to freak out." he laughed lightheartedly.

 

Eliza silently sighed in relief as Gabriel left, that had worked better than she'd expected it to. "Alright everyone, stop gaping back to work. Now, these are the experiments you'll be doing today in groups. So, listen carefully as I'll be expecting you to do this in a minute." She began to go round the different experiments that were set up explaining each one.

April looked at Gabe as she talked, "Are you okay now?" She whispered to him.
