Revelations (Re-made)

April concentrated even harder to calm him down, feeling it working, though she still wasn't sure what would happened when she stopped.

 

Gabriel felt responsible for their sudden exertion of powers they didn't know much of. He took hold of Cory's shoulder, an invisible force of light and dark energy wrapping around him, holding him immobile, "That's enough April. Cory, you must realize you can't get angry over the smallest things."

Gabe remained oblivious to the forces battling eachother in the room, he looked at April with concern, "Hey, you alright?"

 

April finally let go, she nodded shakily as she swayed slightly on the spot.

 

Gabriel's barrier around Cory held him fast.

Gabe wrapped his arms around April, keeping her upright, "April...you don't look so good. You should sit down." He swung her up in his arms and held her there with an easy grin on his face.

 

April smiled at him, "thanks", her head was ringing a little though.

 

Cory struggled inside the barrier, deciding not to talk.

"Hey!" Maddie grinned and walked up to April, "That was great, that power is really cool!"

 

Gabriel smiled with easy charm and pretended to be offended, "What about my power?" He felt a twinge of guilt that he could never truely explain his powers to anyone. The power to control the balance between light and darkness wasn't something easily explainable or substantial. It showed no form and gave no "light" as he called it. It was just an invisible force that he wielded. Sometimes, only focusing on light, bright flashes would occur and the same with darkness but only if he focused on one side.

 

"Your power is awesome too!.....what is it exactly?"

 

Gabriel frowned, "Well, I guess you can just call it, Twilight. When Light and Darkness join, you usually get Twilight, that one time in between dawn and dusk when the sky is pale and everything is calm." He felt a vibration through his bones as he spoke and knew somewhere dark, his brother felt his words.

 

April smiled, "Thanks, your's is cool too" She said to Maddie, before listening to Gabriel with interest, "Sounds awesome"

 

Gabriel smiled at them and quietly gave a mournful sigh. With his power came his brother. "Thanks..." Stretching, he yawned like a cat and lazily watched them.

Gabe smiled at April, "You wanna stand on your own two feet?"

 

April grinned, "I can try"

 

Gabe set her down, ready to scoop her back up if she fell.

 

'Well....at least they're happy...' Maddie thought as she grinned at them, she turned and noticed Cory staring right at her, his eyes burning into hers."That can't be good......right?" She mumbled, not meaning to actually speak.

 

April stood up but held on to Gabe to support her, "Thanks", she looked round, hearing Maddie speak, "What can't-" She saw Cory, "Oh. I'd hoped that it wouldn't ware off so fast with the amount of effort I put in but he's very strong willed."

 

Gabriel lazily let his power loosen it's hold on Cory, "Are you going to settle down now, Cory?"

Gabe held April and scowled at Cory, thinking, 'I doubt it.'

 

Cory didn't respond, he just kept on staring at Maddie, ever so slightly smacking his lips at her when she looked up.

 

Gabriel reached down and tilted Cory's face up to his, "Cory...I asked you a question. Do you want to fail my class?"

 

"Who...wouldn't" He mumbled, not taking his eyes off Maddie.

 

April sighed and looked questionally at the others, as if to say what do we do now?.
