Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

"Well, she wouldn't exactly be allowed to just call herself that. She must of been given the title somehow..."

"Good." Lana smiled.

 

"Is that a problem?" Benedict asked.

 

Near returned the smile. "So how did it go? Your visit to Laya's?"

 

"Not really, just surprising. No offence to her but she doesn't exactly look that smart, or that strong. Or that anything really. Looks rather ordinary and to be frank, rather dull."

"Oh... That..." Lana sighed hanging her head. "We got her, we saw the shinigami. But... She kinda... gave up her memories before we managed to bring her in..."

 

He started to play with his hair and he began to think. "Well....That isn't good. But kind of expected."

 

"Oh well. We should get going. Maybe we could get that Jen girl I met to come along." Benedict said walking off.

 

"Ooh, she your girlfriend?" Blondie giggled mockingly.

"Sorry..." Lana sighed. "It was the one thing I forgot to think of... I had ideas for the most insane turn of events. But I forgot that."

 

"It is okay."

 

"She is not my girlfriend." Benedict said.

 

"Bet you wish she was." Blondie giggled, fully aware that she was behaving in a rather immature way. But she didn't care, it was the first time in a while she'd been able to play around, even just a little.

"Still... I let you down, and I'm sorry..."

 

Benedict looked at Blondie and said, "Do you really think that?"

 

"You didn't let me down. I expected her to do so."

 

"I'm hung over and just a little bored. I'll do and say anything." Blondie shrugged.

"So you're not gonna like... kill me for being a complete idiot?"

 

"Why do you say that? I would never kill you. I can't even hurt you."

 

"I ment like yell at me, not actually kill me silly." Lana laughed weakly. Though a tiny part of her, that had learnt all to well from experience, had almost thought he'd hurt her. Though of course she KNEW otherwise. But it was a odd gut instict she'd picked up long ago.

 

"i don't even think I could yell at you either."

 

"At any rate, we should go and ask if she wants to come with us." Benedict said walking off to go find her.

Lana smiled at his words, he really amazed her at times. Gentley she rested her hand on his. "Still... I'm sorry for messing up..."
