A little while later when the team that had set out to capture Kira had returned Lana dropped onto one of the many sofa's that littered the reception of the hotel that they had somewhat taken over. She couldn't even manage to go back to own room to check if Near was still sleeping there. She didn't want to see him for a while she felt like such a failure. She hadn't even thought of that event occuring. I'm so stupid... It's like being back here has made me dumber or something... She thought bitterly, her head resting in her cold hands. Her arms in turn rested upon her legs. She just wanted to forget that part of the morning, the part before she left had been perfect. But maybe that's how it was going to go for them, they have a 'moment' and then it's over with a crash. Back to Earth with a bump, because the last time they'd played around like that had been mere mintues away from her collaspeing into a coma. Though, at least that hadn't affected the rest of the world like this cock up had...

 

What's with her...? Mellody wondered as she soundlessly observed the meloncoly figure of Lana. Something seemed a little odd considering not only had she managed to bring Laya in but she'd obviously come on in leaps and bounds with Near in the last few hours. Cautiously she approached her and jumped over the back of the sofa Lana had been sitting on, landing besides her. "You alright hun?"

 

"Oh... Heya Mell..." Lana sighed, lifting her head from her palms. "I'm alright... I guess... I kinda f*cked up bringing in Laya, she..." She started but then decided it would be better to at least whisper it, she hadn't even reported it to Near yet. So she wasn't even certain she should be telling Mellody. "She gave up her memories just before we got her. She doesn't remember a thing..." She explained in a whisper. Before returning to her original postion. "But don't mention that, I haven't even told Near yet..."

 

"ahh..." Mellody nodded, leaning towards Lana, silently cursing Laya in her mind.
"Well, i think you should tell Near... or... i have an idea..." Mellody started, a evil smirk crossing her face.

 

"I really don't want to... And he's sleeping right now so I'm not going to wake him up..."

 

"Come on..." Mellody poked her. "It'll cheer you up!"

 

"Fine, what's your idea Mellody?" Lana sighed indifferently. She really wasn't in the mood to play games with her or anyone else.

 

"Well.." Mellody smiled turning to her. "let's go get wasted!"

 

"Are you insane?" Lana laughed. "Fine, not got anything better to do. There's a pub around here we could go to, should still be open..."

 

"Yay!" Mellody yelled girlishly, giggling lightly afterwards. "I'm going to see L wasted!"

 

"You wouldn't be the first hun." Lana laughed as she jumped to her feet. "Come on, lets get going."

 

Mellody jumped to her feet as well, a large smile spread across her face as she tried to picture Lana drunk and holding a bottle of alchahol. "So how are you when you're drunk anyway?

 

"From what I remeber from Near's birthday I laugh at anything and everything. And fall down stairs." Lana grinned walking out the door.

 

"But.." Mellody started. "honey... You fall down stairs anyway..."

 

"Alright, fall down more stairs then. And land on people..." Lana agreed, pulling a 'What the Hell?' expression as she said the last sentence.

 

Mellody held back her laughter walking after Lana. "now THAT i would pay to see.."
