Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

"Yeah, you kinda did." Lana smiled, kneeling up in her chair and looking over at him. "For about an hour or so. I thought it was best to leave you. You alright?"

 

ooc only took like forever

"I'm fine." He said and sat up. "But I wasn't soupsed to go to sleep."

 

"I think if you're body shuts down like that, you're ment to sleep Near."

 

"But I have stuff to do."

 

"You'd do a better job of it having slept. And you know I'm right sir."

 

He sighed. "It seems you're right almost always about these kinds of things."

 

"Of course." She smiled. "I just say do the opposite of what I'd do."

 

He paused for a bit. "So what are you doing right now? And did anything happen while I was asleep?"

 

"I was..." Lana started, looking back breifly at her computer's screen. "I was just going through some old photographs and things." She said, opting for the partial truth over a straight lie.

 

"Could I see?"

 

"You really wouldn't want to..."

 

"Okay then. So could you answer my other question?"

 

"No, nothing's happened. It's almost the calm before the storm..."

 

He sighed again and realized his eyes haven't adjusted to the light yet so he rubbed them with the cuffs of his sheves.

 

"So..." Lana sighed, shutting her laptop down and standing up.

 

"So?" He looked at the clock "It's still pretty early."

 

"I dunno..." She shrugged "And it is isn't it..."

 

"Well..." He shook his head a little trying to clear it. "We have a job to do but I'm not sure I will be able to help for a while."

 

"Still a little sleepy?" She asked sitting down besides him.

 

"A little."
