"Okay then." He sat on the floor in front of the chair. "I want to talk to her so mind if I wait with you?"

 

"No I don't mind..."

 

"Good cause I was staying either way."

 

"I thought so." She laughed ruffling his hair.

 

He smiled. "You love doing that don't you?"

 

"It's fun." She grinned.

bic: Kain sighed, as he watched the television. "Great. SO above all the things, I get stuck haven to stick behind while Jake gets to babysit the kid. What a pain" he muttered as he reveiwed a recording of the news announcement that Yuu had made

 

Mellody sighed, she had already been waiting for several minutes for either Near or Lana to notice her but smiled all the same as she notted how much closer they had become.

 

"Oh, heya Mellody. How long you been there?" Lana asked as she sat back in her seat.

 

"Long enough." Mellody replied smiling at her. "So, we ready to go yet?"

 

"Yep, ready to go." She smiled jumping up. "See ya sir." Lana nodded at Near, unable to resist the erdge to mess with his hair again. She she ruffled it one last time and went of to join Mellody. "Let's get goin' then."

 

"Mellody raised an eyebrow at her. "You're telling me about last night on the way..." She murmurred walking out of the room.

 

"You should already know about the events that led up to it, I'm sure you managed to keep record of it." She replied as they walked off, being careful to pronouce record as one would when mentioning a recording.

 

"oh yeah..." Mellody murmered looking away as she walked. f*ck! i'm screwed!

 

"I only have one thing to say to you on the matter. And it's something I never thought I'd have o say to you." Lana said, pulling to a stop and folding her arms across her chest.

 

"Sh*t!" Mellody cringed turning to look at her. "So, what're you gonna say?"

 

Lana's serious expression rapidly melted away, leaving her with the just the joyous smile she'd been left with since midnight the previous night. She wordlessly glided past Mellody, patting her on the shoulder as she past. Looking her straight in the eyes. "Thank-you, so much." She nodded before looking away again in some random skyward direction.

 

Mellody stared at her, smiling in a ubelieving way. "What happened... if you really mean that thank you you'll tell me!"

He watched them leave before fixing his hair and going back into the montior room

 

"Just not here... At least let's get out of the building first... Don't want everyone else hearing it. I get gossiped about enough as is."
