Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

"Yeah, I'm fine. Happens to me a lot, if I can fall down stairs and embarrass the hello outta myself I don't think a poke is going to cause much more of an issue." Lana smiled kindly, in all honesty she was used to pain now. About the only reason she was seeming to be getting clumsier was that she just didn't care about physical pain anymore. In fact she barley noticed it at times, and when she did she just didn't mind. "Anyway, welcome to the SPK J.A.V.A. I'll be called you J for short most likely. Though I do that to a lot of people here, to lazy to remember the whole thing see." She laughed, pressing a finger against her own temple."And don't gove out your name so easily, or at least to people who you only have their words to go on for who they are. I actually am a SPK though there was a chance I wasn't. Just a little bit of advice I give everyone. But I am SPK, have no doubts about that. Ask me most things either Kira related or SPK related or even Near related if you really don't belive me. Also drinking isn't the best of past times in this profession, and I'm speaking from experience. I tried down the stairs and landed ontop of the boss last time I was p*ssed. Though he was drunk too, but you didn't hear that from me."

 

Kyra looked happily at L, and said quietly, ''Ok, I'll stick to not drinking much, but I think the General that I used to work with was a little too encouraging on giving alcohol to minors. And he's here too... Although he's probably not going to make it to the doors, judging on how the secretary was beating him downstairs, and his drinking habits. So.. what...'' But before she could finish the sentance, the general poked Kyra, causing her to stumble, with the whisky coming out of her bag.

''Ahh... I was wondering where you hid this cadete!'' Then, he glanced at L for the first time, and began concotting fantasies in his head whilst smiling and drooling (yes he's a dirty fellow).

''Ahh, You must be one of the SPK members. I'm General Cobbs, Near must have recieved a message about the new member. Well, I'll be off now, send my regards to Near please?'' The general said, blushing as he looked at L, and then patting Kyra on the head like a pet dog.

''Behave yourself cadete! I know you like work and play, but this isn't the time or place. Its serious now, so remember what we had taught you at the academy.'' He said to Kyra, riveting her head around.

''Err... Yes sir!'' Kyra said, looking at him as if he was wacky.

 

"Yeah, drinking isn't something I'd advise starting. It makes life a lot more... blurred." Lana said as though she were speaking from experience. Which, she was ashamed to admit, she was. Not that anyone knew that. Then as the general appeared with his letcherous look she wrinkled her nose slightly, regretting her dission to go back to wearing tight black leather for the operation. Though, she considered, the idea of wearing the insanly short dress she had been wasn't that appetising of an idea. She was starting to wonder if she was giving out some sort of weird radar saying: take me, I'm easy. Because every male she'd met recently had either hit on her to some extent or appeared to be having disgusting little fantasy daydreams about her."I'll be sure to pass your message along to Near the next chance I get General." She nodded, being carfull not to take her watchfull dark eyes off of him.

 

''Don't get the wrong ideas, general, but I think you're too old and senile for her.'' Kyra whispered loudly, making sure he heard exactly what she said. The last look he gave her was an evil + morbid look, as he disappeared off back to the airport.

Kyra then got her things prepared, and said to L, "Sorry for his manners, he's quite the sh*t type of bloke after he's knocked down a few. So... How does things work around here?''

 

"Wouldn't be the first time some freaky old guy tried to get in on with me in the last month of so." Lana shuddered "I seem to radiate that kinda thing off of me. It's disturbing to say the least. Very disturbing. Anyway, as for how things work. Well, the missions and stuff I'm sure you understand. Everyone is pretty focused on the Kira Case and next to nothing else. But as for the social and or unoffical side, that's when it gets complictated."

 

Kyra laughed at the fact that she's not the only one who thinks the General is a creepy dude, right before re-directing her mind to when L mentioned the part when things gets complicated.
''Just how complicated can these matters get?'' Kyra asked innocently, fiddling with her goggles.

 

"Let me put it this way: You know in school you have all the gangs and types and such? It's a lot like that at times, though not as bad. And everyone has a sort of... unoffical job. Mellody over there," She indicated the tallish blonde woman dressed in leather who was trying her best to remain out of the conversation. "She's our local gossip and reletionship guru in a strange way. And she can't really deny that, not matter how hard she tries. And I'm well... I'm the Boss's carer in a way. I'm Near's Babysitter if you will. It's not something you can plan, it just happens."

 

Kyra then sighed. ''So you mean the stereotype system never changes, no matter how old we get?'' Kyra said, feeling both relief and regret. For being in university at only 16, its not unusual to be picked on for age and size, and brains. But she managed somehow to fit in with many stereotypical groups, and she one day wishes that everyone could get along without stereotyping each other (Cue in Hippie Peace Parade).

''I sort of understand where you come from. The General had a daughter ages ago, and I used to be her babysitter (well, I looked after her), although she was years older than me and was planning on becoming the world's best architect. Unfortunately, she was targeted by a Kira killling spree...

I remember that day clearly...

She was at the wrong place at the wrong time, and police arrested her as they thought she was part of a murder that happened moments ago on the scene. Kira had no trouble in seeing her name on the police records, and wiped her out two hours after she had been arrested. She was eventually found innocent, but she didn't live long enough to be proven in the eyes of the law. It somehow adds up to being stereotypical, or even prejudiced. Kira believes that every criminal is soaked in sin, however there is more to the person than the worst thing that they have done... If I ever meet Kira... I don't know.. Revenge isn't a good enough word for what I want to do to it.'' Kyra muttered, receving flashbacks both good and bad of times where she was around people who really mattered to her.

 

"Nope, high school never ends." She laughed "Well, it ended for me at fourteen but oh well... Least uni was out of the way by the time I was 16." Then suddenly she changed subjects, how she hated discussing anything that happend to her before she'd joined the SPK, and she despised having to talk about her school years. The years that effectivly ruined her entire existence "Seems like I'm the only one who hasn't lost anyone because of Kira... yet... But I don't think it's quite the same thing with with me and Near as it was between you and that guy's daughter. I'm about three years younger then him in actuality, I just worry that little to much. I actually used to hate his guts." Lana added nervously "Not anymore though. Situations change. Basicly I just make sure he sticks to doctors orders eats and sleeps. No good to anyone dead now is he."

 

Terri followed him. "I'll come but you'll have to replace all of the stuff I'm leaving behind."


Near just happened to be watching the montor with Lana and the new girl on it. Thankfully for Lana he couldn't hear most of it.

 

"Right well, you better go sober off miss." Lana smiled "Me and Mell got stuff to do. See you around I guess." She said, raising a hand in a rather lazy wave. "Just don't show up if you have a hangover. That's when bad stuff starts to happen, believe me."

 

"You've got a death note. Get someone else to do it" matt said to her as he was given what had appeared to be an envolope. "Better hurry up then" he said to her.

ooc: once they get to where they supposed to, I gonna stop rping with matt for a bit, so it is your choice whether to bring terri or not. I'm just sayens.....

Mellody smield evily to herself, taking a step back from Lana and heading back up to Near's room. "Oh, near, i have somethign to show you..."

 

"Alrite then" he said as he started to head over towards the man who was selling the tickets to the boat that they were going to go onto. "How much money do you have?" Matt asked Terri.
