Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

"Well it can't all be because of me."

 

"You're pretty much the first person I've been nice to in over a decade..."

 

"How come?"

 

"You're one of the only people I actually remember ever being nice to me and not being fake because of pity... If it wasn't poor Lana the bullied little girl it's poor Lana the orphaned girl..."

 

"I guess it's cuase we have so much in common."

 

"Maybe..." Lana said pensively, playing with one of her her neko ears with her one spare hand. "So... What was your childhood like?"

 

"My parents...Didn't really like me. I can't remember every detail but everything that I did was wrong. I ended up getting taken away from them. That's how I got orphaned."

 

"They... abused you?" Lana asked in shock.

 

"Yes." He said and found himself looking down at their hands

 

"Oh my god..." Were the only words Lana could find to say. Words couldn't discribe the mess of emotions she could feel inside of her. Anger, pain, sadness to name a few. She gently tightened her grip on his hand and moved back next to him.

 

He looked back up at her. "There's nothing to worry about. I've moved on."

 

"Yeah... but still... Just the idea of someone hurting you like that..."

 

"You get hurt too. And for no reason at all. I don't know why my case is any different."

 

"I was hurt by kids... Not my parents... I don't even know the names of my parents or if they're even alive... It's just... different with parents... They just shouldn't... Sorry, I'll shut up... You prob'ley don't want to talk about it..."

 

"No it's okay. And no parents shouldn't but some do. And most kids just have to deal with it. If you think about it from another angle I got lucky and got into a new home but a lot of others don't."

 

"That's true... But they just still shouldn't of..." Lana mumbled squeasing his hand. "At least you're safe-ish and alright now though."

 

He rested his head on her shoulder. "I still wish I'd know why."

 

"No reason at all I expect..." Lana sighed putting her arm around him and kissing his head.

 

He hugged her. "Well now I have you so it worked out in the end..."

 

"Yeah, everything seems to of worked out for best." She smiled brushing his hair from his face.
