Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

He back while shoving something in his pocket and sat back down in his spot on the floor. "Nothing. Just mumbling."

 

"What's in your pocket Near?"

 

"...Nothing dangerous... Go back to messing with Lana."

 

"You've got matches, haven't you?"
"Matches?"
"Yeah, he was planning on burning a coffee table earlier."
"What the f*ck?"
"I know right?"

 

He took out a match from the case and lit it. "Heh"

 

"Near! Blow it out, now." Lana said sitting up at last. "You don't play with fire."

 

He made a sulking face. "But it's pretty."

 

"It won't be pretty when you burn yourself or one of us. Now blow it out. Please?" Lana asked in a politly forceful voice.

 

While she was speaking he burnt his finger. "Owie."

 

"Near..." Lana facepalmed climbing off the bed and going over to him. "Don't so I didn't warn you."

 

He dropped the match. "Opps..."

 

"Sh*t..." Lana said picking the match up off the floor quickly, before the carpet was set alight, but not before the pile was singed. Burning her own fingers in the process and whincing slightly in pain as the heat scorched her flesh when she set the smuldering wooden match onto the side table. "Don't play with matches, lighters or anything else that will set a fire. Alright?" she ask, instictively biting the finger she'd harmed.

 

"I'm sorry Lana. Please forgive me." He said while looking up at her with child-like eyes

 

"Nice try with the puppy dog eyes." Lana giggled. "Just don't do it again." She said, sitting down next to him so she could keep an eye on him. Still sucking her singed finger.

 

"Are you okay?"

 

"Yeah, I just burnt my finger. That's all."

 

"Silly Lana."

 

"Your match that did it." Lana giggled, playfulling pushing him with her shoulder.

 

"It's an evil match that I never touched before.... In my life."

 

"Sure it was." Lana giggled. "Whatever you want to believe."
