Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

Mellody gulped hard, hiccuping halfway through, vertually tackling her bed when she heard the door shut, shoving her face into her pillow as she cried freely, kicking out randomly in a childish tautrum-like fashion, not caring what she broke, or how much of a nuisance she was becoming as she creamed as loud as possible until her lungs began to hurt...

 

Theory cringed, almost as though in pain at the sound of Mellody's anguish.

 

Mellody continued her tauntran for a few more minutes, until eventually she'd run herself down so far she could barely do more than cry, pushing her face as far as she could into her pillow, which, by now, was soaked in tears, her eyes worn out, painful and red from all the crying...

 

Theory pondered going back into her room for a moment, wondering if maybe interupting Near and Lana would be a good idea. It seemed Mellody had more of a connection with the girl then she did with Theory herself. Though, she'd feel bad about getting between the couple and she was sure that Mellody would be agravated at that too. But she'd worked herself into such a state that she doubted that even Mello himself wouldn't of been able to offer much help. Deep down she knew it was the right thing to let her continue being so distraut. It was painfully obvious that she'd never let herself behave in that manner before, and that she really needed to have the outburst to maintain what little sanity she had left after what most of been the most world destroying and heart shattering day of her life. With some apprehension Theory typed out a almost pleading text to Lana asking her to come see her, maybe she could offer help that Theory herself could not.
Heyo L, it's Mellody. She's finnally snapped I think, she's in such a state and I have no idea what to do. Please come and help? She may actually listen to what you have to say.

Upon reciving the message Lana made her hurried excuses to Near and soon appeared by Mellody's door. Standing just behind Theory, making no sound at all. Just listening to the distressed wails and sobs for a moment, as though analysing the entire situation. Almost immeadiatly knowing the enitre story. "You told her about the photos. Didn't you?" Lana enquired calmly, her voice rather cold and harsh dispite the enviroment.

"I couldn't avoid it any longer. You know what I said to him." Theory replied, not so much as turning around to face her. Giving off the aura that she was infact being business-like. Though in reality it was because she couldn't look her in the eyes and say the things she had to say.

"There are more important things then promises to the dead." Lana replied darkly. "If I didn't think that she needed this too and I wasn't in such a good mood then you wouldn't even be concious right now. You're very lucky."

"Quit the trash talk junior and do whatever voodoo it is you do that makes people open up to you and then lets you make them feel a passable happy again."Theory replied, walking away from the situation. Feeling as though she was doing little more then running away. "And tell her I'm sorry that I had to tell her. But she did need to know..." She added just before she disappeared from sight.

Carfully Lana opened the door to see the distressing sight of Mellody sobbing into her pillow. "Heya Mell, Theory called me down." She explained with a sympathetic smile as she peered around the door. Sliding infront of it and soundlessly shutting it behind her. "I would ask if you're alright, but it's kinda obvious you're not pet." Lana added, sitting down on the bed beside her friend.

 

Shane walked into the police department. The disquised death note in one hand, and the piece of paper that he had been given before in the other. "Oh why hello there mr.police officer" he said with a grin on his face. He was looking directly at the little name tag on his shirt that said "Hi, my name is Dougless David Doowop. How may I help you?", though he had no idea just how much he was about to help Shane.

 

As she ate the spaguetti peacefully, she wondered why Ross was sitting there quietly.

This isn't at all like him, and its getting on my nerves... She thought angrily, slurping up a string of spaguetti.​

 

Mellody diverted her eyes slightly to her friend, unsure of what to say or do but simply "H-he... di-died... f-fo..."

 

"I know..." Lana sighed sadly. "That's why I was so surprised when you mentioned it for the first time..."

 

Mellody just stared at Lana shaking her head slowly, unable to believe her best friend had kept something like this from her...

 

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I didn't want to upset you... I thought that maybe I could tell you later. When it was less fresh... That was prob'ley a bad idea... I got self-absorbed for a while, for that I am sorry. I should of thought it through more thoughly."

 

"I...i hate you..." Mellody muttered, hiding her face in her pillow again...

 

"Again... I'm so sorry..." Lana mumbled, hanging her head in shame. The words cutting her like ice cold glass as tears proceeded to fall down her own pale face. "You have every right to never want to see me again..." I've been waiting for this moment... I knew it was only going to be so long before I made another sh*tty desision...

 

"Just... just leave me alone!" Mellody yelled at her, not even looking at her face...

 

"Sorry, no can do Mell." Lana sighed determinedly. Settling down onto the bed. "Take your best shots at me, I don't care. I deserve it and you need an outlet."

 

Mellody litterally slammed her head into her pillow, screaming yet again, this time for everything she had just learnt, for the lover she had lost, and the betrayal she felt from her best friend, continuing until she had pretty muxch knocked herslf out from lack of breath, directly aiming a kick at Lana in an attempt to at least knock her from the bed.

 

Lana yelped pitifully as the kick knocked her off of the bed. Causing her to land spread-eagled on the floor, blood dripping slightly from where she'd bitten her tounge as her chin smacked into the floor.

 

Mellody moaned into her pillow, not sure of what to do or say, or even what to think anymore. If what they said was true, then it was her fault Mello died, her fault that...

 

Carfully Lana picked herself up again, wiping the blood from her mouth and the tears from her eyes. "I wish I could tell you more Mell... But they closed the case little more then a few days after I joined the team so you most likely know more then I do... All I knew was the photos... I can promise you that. And the photos I'd only heard of in passing until just now..."

 

"Just... just..." Mellody tried with an abnormally high voice. "It... it's my fault... he... he died because.. because.."

 

"It's not your fault Mell..." Lana sighed, sitting down besides her again. "If you'd killed him or told him to go then it would of been your fault. But he did it to save you of his own accord without so much as mentioning it to you... It's not your fault hun..."
