"If we're both happy then everything's alright."

 

He nodded. "Yeah."

 

Lana smiled peacefully as she moved onto her knees, being sat on her left calf for so long she'd lost all feeling in it but a slightly painful compression sensation.

 

"You know you don't have to sit on the floor."

 

"I don't mind..." She smiled. "Least both of us on the floor is better then both on your bed. I don't actually blame her for jumping to any conclusions..." Lana giggled

 

"Me neither...I could see why anyone would do as she did."

 

"Doesn't say a lot for how we're percived by the other though does it?"

 

"No it does not but does it matters?"

 

"To be honest I don't careless, they'd assume that was happening one way or the other just because they don't really know us personally... They know Near and L, not Nate and Lana."

 

"That is true. You're the only one who knows me personally as Nate..."

 

"No one else at all?" Lana asked in slight surprise. She found it odd that she was the only one to know his name, but also not that surprised that that was the case.

 

"A few know my real name but none of them know me personally. My and Mello were somewhat of friends but he's gone know."

 

"Yeah..." Lana sighed. "So I guess you telling me your name is so much more of a big deal then most people would think..."

 

"But no one knows that you know right?"

 

"No, no one knows I know at all."

 

"Well that's good to hear."

 

"One less thing to worry about I guess."

 

"Still a lot to go though."

 

"That's the way of the world I guess."

 

"No matter how smart I am or anyone else is I think no one will be able to ever understand the world."
