Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

Lana smiled back at him, taking hold of his hand as though to say 'Well, it seems like you do. Doesn't it?'

 

He took hold of her hand and looked at it. "Not always a good thing though..." He said before leaning on her

 

"Shuts me up though..." She joked quietly, her voice little more then a faint whisper. Though at least she wasn't stuttering and tripping over her words as she did the previous occasion.

 

"But I like your voice."

 

After going halfway through hacking the local hardware (With no result), Kyra took a break and drank red-bull, right before getting back to work.

 

"Just as well seeing as I suffer from verbal diarehoa at times." She giggled quietly.


"Hey, thingy... can't remember your name. Soz. What you up to?" Blondie asked Kyra. Not perticualt interested but Mellody had become rather unentertaining.

 

"Well at least you can talk again now."

 

"Albeit rather quietly..." She whispered hoarsely.

 

Kyra turned around and whispered, ''Just hacking local hardware...So how ya doin?''

She smiled at Blondie.

 

He brushed the hair from her face before resting his hand on her cheeck. "Better then nothing."

 

"Yeah... I guess." She replied, slightly tilting her head towards his hand. Smiling happily at his touch.

"Sounds fascinating." Blondie giggled sarcasticly. "Me? Not much, just keeping up on the latest gossip around here."

 

Kyra raised her eyebrows, and then getting a chair for Blondie, she whispered surprisingly, ''What type of gossip?''

 

He returned a smile. "Now if only every day could be this...nice."

 

"Classic stuff, whose the best dressed, whose the newest couple, whose throwing up before they digest."

"Yeah..." She nodded. "But then... days like this wouldn't be so special, they'd just be everyday."

 

Kyra then grinned slightly, and then said, ''Cool... So... I can only guess the newest couple is Near and Lana... Yeah thats about it... I always keep an open ear for interesting things, but lately it hasn't gone so well...''

She then got an unused, Jack Daniels' whisky out of her bag, and gave it to Blondie. ''Here, you can have this... I'm on a non-alcoholic course at the mo, and the sessions are hell. Well... it'll just mean I don't drink... But its quite a waste really... I have a whole room full of alcoholic drinks... And no-where to place them...''

 

"Got it in one babe." Blondie grinned cheekily. "And it's set in stone after what I just heard. From two different people." She giggled. Then as she was handed the bottle she sighed a little. "You shouldn't even be drinking at your age, let alone need to be in rehab. But getting away from the stuff should help ya. And there's always the toliet, or selling it on to some of the older members here. That's worth a shot, you get money from it too that way."

 

''My carer is a general from the army... And he's pretty much a hard-core drinker... I used to hang around with his daughter before she died... And well... Her death sort of got me drinking... I also joined the army at a young age... And well... Its quite tough... But it doesn't mean that we don't have a social life... Its more of an adult background, and for some reason, they saw me as a responsible adult, and well... I'm still a teenager under 16... A member of the army last month realised I'm a drinker... And sent me off to rehab... Well.. I don't blame her...'' she murmured, still smiling faintly.

''So... what sort of member should I sell these drinks to?? Well... Since I've literally got a room full of alcoholic drinks... Is it ok if I give you a free pack? It can get me started off on the selling... And its a way of thanking you for the advice...''

 

"Any of the ones over eighteen I'd say, seeing as we're in England." Blondie smirked. "And sorry to hear you had it so tough so young. My childhood wasn't the best, sounds a fair bit better then your's though."

 

''Welll.... There are some people worse off than me, and better off than me, but thats life... I think that the best thing is to only think about the future, not the past... The job is keeping me on my toes, so I don't keep thinking about the past... By the way, I think we can get along quite well...'' Kyra smiled, putting herself in a more comfortable position.

 

"Same here. You don't seem so hung up on my reputation like all the others." Blondie smiled. Geuninly happy that for once someone seemed to like her, and not for personal gain.
