Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

"Did i say when we were gonna go?" Mellody asked turning around. "Tommorow 5 pm, and you'll be coming then, whether you like it or not, and Near won't have much choice in the first place."

 

"He's not coming Mellody." Lana repeated. Still not looking up from the choas of her suitcase "If for no other reason then it's not just jeans and t-shirts that don't fit me anymore."

 

"Fine, he won't come." Mellody gave in. "But you are, and what else doesn't fit you?"

 

"Mellody, I've dropped half a stone. You really think I'll have lost weight from areas other then my waistline."

 

"I'll leave it." Mellody said quickly. "But, in that case we're going shopping in half an hour."

 

"But I'm hung over..." Lana moaned. "And I'm not in the mood to go anywhere. I wanna stay here..."

 

"But you want to look good." Mellody said bluntly. "And it's really not up to you,. i'll drag you by your hair if i have to."

 

"Fine." Lana sighed, resigning to the fact she was never going to win. "Manipulative shrew." She giggled grabbing the short and slightly flowy black skirt from Hawaii and the red top she'd been playing with earlier. Ducking into the bathroom momentarily as she hurridly got changed. Walking back out again without the jacket on because the strain from fighting with the t-shirt she'd been wearing before hand had caused a great deal of stress on the stitches and it was rather painfull having fabric against them.

 

"You look nice..." Mellody smiled. "Hoping Near likes it?"

 

"Thanks." Lana smiled, "And of course..." She added, brushing her hair behind her ear in a demure fashion.

 

Mellody smield widely, but then sighed. "Lana... jus t so you know, i'm going to make sure Near's dream doesn't become a reality... whatever the cost may be..."

 

"Thanks, I'm trying my best to make sure that doesn't happen too." She smiled. "Just don't go killing yourself for it hun. Nothing that makes me so special that you need to do that much."

 

Mellody looked at her, her eyes saying i refuse to lose another person who's close to me..

 

Lana smiled sadly and hugged her. "Just remember to take care of yourself first Mell, you're not the only one who doesn't want to lose someone. There are people depending on you."

 

Melldoy smiled hugging her back. "i just... i refuse to lose anyone else Lana, and nothing you can say can change that..."

 

"Mell, I have two people in this whole world. That's it, you and Near. And as much as I love him I can't really b*tch about other girls with him and who else is gonna make sure I know what I'm doing?"

 

Mellody poked her nose. "i just said nothing you can say will change my mind right?"

 

Lana rubbed her nose and nodded "Fine. I give up, you're more stubborn then a donkey." she giggled. She let go of her and grabbed a pair of quite simple kitten-heeled shoes. Cautiously slipped them onto her feet and stood up. Taking a few small baby steps then walking with a little more confidence. "Haven't worn heels since the op. And I was warned brain damage and that would wreck my balence. Been rather fortunate really."

 

Mellody smiled and shook her head. "Those heels ae a little.. well plain don'tcha think?"

 

"Mell, anything else will make me look like I cost fifty quid an hour or seventy-five for the night."
