Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

"Alright?" She smiled, brushing his hair from his face.

 

"Yeah, I am fine."

 

"Good." She nodded

 

He let go to sit up and rubbed his eyes.

 

After a moment's pondering Lana looked over at Near and asked quietly "Just wondering, but... How did I die? Sounds rather odd and macbre, and I dunno why I want to know. But how?"

 

He shook his head. "I'd rather not say..."

 

"Oh... Alright..." Lana nodded, resting her chin on her knees. She'd curled back up as soon asr Near had sat up.

 

"I'm sorry."

 

"For what?" Lana asked, seeming slightly puzzled. "You didn't have to tell me if you didn't want to."

 

He nodded.

 

"Just curious. Is all..."

 

"Okay then."

 

As she stared somewhat blankly at the television Lana began to play with the cuffs of her jacket's sleeves. The odd flash of darker skin tone from the scaring showing through occasionally.

 

"Is something wrong?"

 

"No... No, just a little out of it still..."

 

"Okay..." He sighed

 

"Hey. Emo Kid." Lana grinned, playfully shoving him with her shoulder. "Cheer up. It can't be all that bad."

 

"Not emo. And that is true."

 

"Yeah, you were emo." Lana smiled cheekily. "Gotta go again for a moment.. sorry." She explained, climbing over the back of the sofa and wandering off again.

 

"Okay." He said to her before she was gone
