Return of Kira: Part Two-Betrayal

"Don't go all Moulin Rouge on me Mellody, you're not as good looking as Ewan McGreggor." Lana laughed before becoming a little more serious again. "It's... It's weird, but I'm really not used to the whole concept of it... So maybe that's why."

 

She looked at Blondie confusingly, and then murmured, ''Ok, errmm... Is it ok if you can tell me about ya know, about some of the member's personalities..? Urm.. Its quite random... But I'm quite curious... Being new and all...Ermm...''

 

"I haven't been here all that long myself, I just learn people like an actor learns lines. Something that I like you use from time to time if I have very little else to do, you can get some rather gratifying results from knowing what people want and when they want it. Anyway, I can tell yu what I've figured out about the others if you wish. I don't really mind. Is there anyone in perticular? Just bare in mind that I don't have them to veiw at the current moment and I'll be working from memory."

 

Kyra looked at Blondie, and clutching onto her suitcase full of paperwork, asked softly, ''Urmm... You Know Lana... Erm...never mind! I'll talk to you later... Erm... Sorry for the stalking...''

She then smiled nervously at Blondie, not wanting to be hated by anyone already, and crouched down to lock her suitcase.

 

"What about her? There something about her that interests you? I won't tell her you were wondering, it's not as if I've ever had much to do with her. We've run into each other a couple of times at most, what is it?"

 

Kyra felt uneasy, but seeing as she can trust Blondie, she said, ''Well... I'm new, and well... Last time I met her... Erm.. I remember her saying a few things about Near... Erm... I don't think thats any of my business but because I was passing by, I just listened... Erm... So, what is Lana like?''

 

"All I know about those two, seeing as I haven't been here that long. Is that they seem to spend every waking moment together, that last night he was with her when she was drunk and that I saw them leave her room at the exact same time. I could be wrong and she was just violently ill. But you never know in this day and age. I won't say any more because it really isn't my business."

''Wow, but judging from their experiences with each other, I'd say they looked out for each other long enough... Well... I dunno... Maybe...''

 

Near had finished eating and was now sitting on the couch in the lobby, boredly playing with his hair as he thought about the case.

 

"The peices fit, but whose to say what the picture is?" Blondie commented engimaticly.

"Heya sir." Lana said brightly as she jumped over the back of a sofa near to the one Near was occupying.

"Hi." He said as she jumped on the couch. "You had to do that?"

"Yes." She replied simply. "Seemed like fun."

"Okay then."

 

"Sorry I left so quickly, spilt it on my dress. Coffee and white don't mix very well." She explained, and sure enough she wasn't wearing the dress any longer. Rather a pair of rather old looking jeans, with some rather red looking stains on them.

 

He looked at the stains. "What's that?"

 

"Oh... Some old stuff from when I was like twelve. Nothing important. Just old stains that wouldn't move no matter what..." Lana said, carfully avoiding the truth. And silently cursing herself for not checking to see which pair of jeans she'd picked up.

 

He sighed. "Sure."

 

"It's nothing to worry about if that's what you're thinking." Lana sighed as she dropped off the sofa onto the floor. Pulling her bag off her shoulder with minimum wincing, pulling out her laptop and setting it up on the coffee table. "Before you say anything I'm not working on anything involving sensitive materials. Just some things I need to catch up on for the dullness of the real world."

"Not really... It's all rather dull: Bills and essays. Can't believe I'm still carrying on with my degree but I needed the back up should something untoward happen. I thought for a while I was going to have to drop out and go back to University after I was shot..."
