Hopefully Insomniac learned from some of their faults with the second game and bring back some things from the first, like the tension and difficulty. Keep the multiplayer stuff though, that's tons of fun.
I'm still playing through the first, but what i've heard about the ending of the second is that Hale is killed...would that mean that there would be a new main character traversing NY or Hale as an undead, chimera?
Nce!! Resistance 1 had an awesome story and gameplay, Resistance 2 had one of the best multiplayer modes I have ever played! Let's hope they join the best of both worlds! Side-note though: The movie is said to be released in 2011, but the story itself could be set in 2010, right? So Resistance 3 could actually release in late 2010, and not in late 2011.. We'll have to wait for an official announcement from Sony/Insomniac.
There's no other advertising because they don't have anything to show at the moment. They just finished Resistance 2 and Ratchet/Clank so they probably have R3 in the planning stages right now. The movie isn't going to be out until early 2011 so it's safe to say that they won't be ready to show the game until late '10 to early '11 which will be the time for advertising the game, and then be ready for a fall 2011 release.
I actually hope this is not true. I mean it's a fictional movie. I want a new IP from Insomniac that is not FPS. Not that i don't like Resistance or wouldn't like a new Resistance, but i'm just not that much a fan of FPS.
I wonder how obvious the billboard will be in the movie. There are lots of advertisements in films that nobody ever notices because they're not shown for that much time. It's not big deal if it were like a soda or a shoe product, but this is a game. I'd say the best way is for somewhere to shout out "LEIK OMG ALIENS AND SHIT!" then the camera turns towards the sky where an alien ship starts shooting up the place. There is the glorious R3 billboard and you get a good glimpse of it for 5-10 seconds before it's blown up.
Thats perfectly right and true. i mean, if there first advertisment was in the movie the it's either a genius teaser or just a forgery for the movie.
