Merry meet, fledgling. Welcome to a new life, a new world, and a new you. Welcome to the Salt Lake House of Night! This might seem like a scary time, Fledgling, but never fear! As you start your journey through the ancient halls of the House of Night, these indispensable classes will aid you in your transition from human to fledgling. Within these walls you will find invaluable information about the history of vampyres. You will also come to a better understanding of your body’s transformation, as well as read words of hope from great vampyres of the past and learn essential foundations of rituals and lore. • ⓵ If you’ve been Marked by a Tracker, night has chosen thee. You will go through the Change and turn into a vampyre. However, if your body rejects the Change, you die.
  
  ⓶ If you are Marked, you must leave your home and move into the House of Night school, where you will take your place as a fledgling and live for four years.
  
  ⓷ At the House of Night School, classes begin at 8pm and end at 3am. The gym is open until dawn.
  
  ⓸ You can never be far from an adult Vampyre for long. And it’s not like you’ll turn into a pumpkin. It’s a much bigger deal than that.
  
  ⓹ Formal rituals are held at Nyx’s Temple twice a week. At the ceremony’s commencement, turn to the east, south, west and north to summon (in order) air, fire, water and earth.
  
  ⓺ If one of the cats at the school chooses you, you will belong to him or her. Not the other way around.
  
  ⓻ Every High Priestess is given an affinity, or special powers, by the Goddess.
  
  ⓼ If you ever leave school grounds, you cannot wear any part of your uniform (which is primarily basic black) and must conceal all tattoo markings.
  
  ⓽ Here at the House of Night school, there are no lockers. You will have cabinets in your homeroom. If someone steals something, the vamps will know it. As will Nyx.

  PROFESSORS
  What it signifies:
  The professors’ symbol is the silver embroidered image of Nyx with her arms upraised and her hands cupping a crescent moon.
  
  THIRD FORMERS
  What it signifies:
  The third formers’ symbol is embroidered in silver in the shape of a spiral that glitters in a delicate circle. The symbol – the silver labyrinth of the Goddess Nyx – stands for a new beginning for the third formers as they walk the Path of Night and learn the ways of the Goddess.
  A 3rd Former would be the same as a Freshman, but students vary in age.
  
  FOURTH FORMERS
  What it signifies:
  The golden wings of Eros are the fourth formers’ symbol. Eros – the love god – is the child of Nyx’s seed. The symbol reminds the fourth formers of Nyx’s capacity to love and also represents the students’ continuous movement forward.
  A 4th Former would be the same as a Sophomore, but students vary in age.
  
  FIFTH FORMERS
  What it signifies:
  The fifth former emblem represents Nyx’s golden chariot pulling a trail of stars. The chariot illustrates the fifth formers’ continuation of Nyx’s journey. The stars represent the magic of a fledgling’s first two years at the House of Night.
  A 5th Former would be the same as a Junior, but students vary in age.
  
  SIXTH FORMERS
  What it signifies:
  The sixth formers’ symbol is an embroidered silver silhouette of the three Fates, the children of Nyx. The sixth formers all wear the emblem of the Fates, the goddesses of destiny. The scissors signify the end or break of the formers’ time at the House of Night.
  A 6th Former would be the same as a Senior, but students vary in age.

  There are two dorms, one for boys and one for girls. They have roughly about six floors, not every room is used. Each dorm has a lounge area and a kitchen. The bedrooms have twin beds with attached bathrooms and walk in closets. They are allowed to be personalized in any manner a student sees fit.
  
  The kitchens are always fully stocked with snacks and beverages, but do to the delicate condition the fledgling bodies are in, there is rarely any unhealthy foods or drinks in the in the cupboards and refrigerators. They are designed to keep the fledglings as healthy as possible to make the Change an easier transition.
  
  The lounges are on the main floor. They have large televisions, big comfy chairs and couches, fooseball / pool tables, cabinets filled with movies and video games. There is also a separate computer lab in each of the dorms with about ten computers in each for studying and whatnot.
  
  Fledglings are allowed to mingle in the dorms of the opposite gender. There aren't room checks or supervisors monitoring the dorms. They are given trust. The only rule being that they are not allowed in the opposite dorm after curfew, which is seven a.m. They need to be back into their dorms before the sun comes up, due to their sensitivity to light.​

☽ There are no 'Red Vampyres.'

☽ Prior knowledge of the House of Night series is not required. This is an original plot line.

☽ Only 10 characters will have powers to start with. If we get a good number of sign ups, then the possibility of more characters with powers will be allowed.

☽ There is a possibility of characters dying. 1 in 10 fledglings do not make it through the Change.

☽ Students that die will be picked by a Random Number Generator. It is nothing against you or your character.

☽ Class schedules aren't that important. The roleplay isn't all about the classes, it is more about character development.

☽ Be prepared to contribute to the story line. If you're only going to post a couple lines once every week or so for the sheer purpose of staying in the roleplay, don't join. If your characters haven't become relative to the overall plot, they aren't needed.

☽ There is no limit on OCs, just that you are able to handle the number you make.

☽ We won't hound anyone or remind them, but once you reach three strikes you are out, no exceptions.

☽ You will be required to post at least once every four days, unless you speak to one of us prior.

☽ We shouldn't have to say this, but since not everyone seems to get it: No God-modding. It should be a given, but clearly is not always the case. You are only allowed to control a character belonging to someone else if they have given you permission and it should not be a frequent thing.

☽ No bios. They are dumb and an utter waste of time. I don't want to know every detail of your character's past. You should show me it in the story—introduce depth. Along with this, not every character should come from some broken home who gets rejected because they end up being a vampyre. A lot of students have very accepting parents that embrace their child's new life.

☽ No Mary - Sues / Gary - Stus

☽ Only one or two characters will be allowed to be 'new fledglings.' Students that just get Marked are still human and have to be found by the Tracker. They don't pop up that frequently, which is why there is a limit on that. If you would like to have a brand new fledgling, please ask one of us first.

☽ Teenagers vary in ages when first being Marked. They usually average between 14 - 17, so they end up finishing school at a later age than humans.

☽ The human world is well aware of the presence of Vampyres. Many disapprove of them, especially the People of Faith, while others encourage the blending of Vampyres in human society. They primarily hold jobs in the Arts or the Athletics, given their increased beauty and heightened strength. Others stick to positions in the Vampyre world such as High Priestesses, Sons of Erebus Warriors, and Professors at the House of Nights located around the world.

☽ Suggestive mature content is allowed, but should be marked as such for those that do not wish to read it. It should be tasteful and not needless smut/language/violence.

☽ Dorm room pairings will be done right before the roleplay starts. Everyone will be paired up at random, but obviously boys will be with boys and girls with girls.

☽ It is extremely important to read the Important Terms listed under Resources. There is a lot there, but key information is included that you will need to know in order to post properly.

☽ Once a vampyre Changes, they are automatically graduated. Relationships between Vampyres and Fledglings is frowned upon because of the strong possibility to Imprint.

☽ None of the students drink blood. 6th Formers start to develop a taste for it and their abilities to lure humans grows stronger as they become closer to the Change.

☽ The original concept for this roleplay is obviously not our own. It is based off of the House of Night books by P.C. & Kristen Cast. Credit goes to them for the idea, but it is an original so there will be no cannon characters other than brief mentioning of historical ones noted in the series; and the plot line is our own.

☽ We reserve the right to add or subtract to these rules as we feel necessary. We will alert you all if we do.​

She gets preoccupied with her work and often times becomes a bit of a space case. Melana enters these trance - like states that are nearly impossible to break her from. When she is coherent to the world outside of her head, she's energetic and bubbly, and loves to be around other people. Melana tends to get a bit jealous when she sees others with their familiars and constantly wonders when one the cats will choose her. Quite often she can be found chasing some of the feline friends around the school, in search of one that might have accidentally overlooked her.

  ☽ PERSONALITY: Lilliana is normally found on her own, not because she likes being on her own but more so that she wants to do what she likes and won't just go along with the crowd. She is independent and hard working, she figures she can do anything if she sets her mind to it. She will happily spend a long time perfecting a skill on her own to achieve what she wants to. However when she does make friends she is very loyal and will protect them no matter what, even to the point where she gets hurt by it. Due to her ability she would much rather suffer as she will heal than watch others get hurt. She strongly dislikes the feeling of being helpless so will work hard to make sure that is never the case.
