Right, so I got an infraction (you don't need to know what for don't be so god damn nosey), and it's expired now, but it stays on my profile page, honestly what's the point of that?

They're unsightly and just drag out the page further than needed, don't give me "it's to serve as a reminder of your past actions in hope you don't repeat them," no they're not don't be stupid, that's what the ones that never expire are for, these little temp ones are the "yo dude, chill out and cool the **** off a bit, here take this Ridilin for a couple days."

I mean, I'm all for the infraction policy, gotta warn those masses somehow, but what's honestly the point of infractions that expire if they just stay on the page, either have them disappears, or don't have temporary ones.

I support this. I got one too, probably right around the same time you did, and I don't really see the point of it being there.

I don't really see what the big deal is? You don't have to go to the Infractions tab. o: And while you may not need them, it's good to have on record for us.

Yes you do, it's right there when you hit settings, where your rep is, which is a fairly commonly received thing.
And it's right in your way.

It's kind of nerve-wracking to see every time you go under your settings. I have one on another vbulletein forum.

I can try to see if I can make the box collapsible, if that'll be better for you all.

    Atta' girl.

I mean honestly, it's not likes a criminal conviction, we don't need it in our faces every time we go on our settings.

It's why I deleted all mine completely when I was an S.mod, ugly to look at.

    Works cool for me.

I'm sure it's in the rules, but let's face it Mist, I aint reading them, what's with the points system on infractions, how many do I need to get until I'm cool?

We don't really use them as intended by the vB system--if you've noticed it has points, expiration dates, etc., which we pay no mind to. The idea behind it was, if a member accumulated enough points, they would be automatically banned for a set period of time. Whenn the infraction expired, the points disappeared, and you were back to the neutral 0. However, through an incident a few years ago we discovered this wasn't ideal because a sectional moderator basically had the ability to ban. The function was turned off then. Now we just use a standard system for rule breakers:
    - Verbal warnings (staff member PMs you, "hi you have been behaving poorly, fix this up")
    - Infraction (an actual warning, recorded on your profile)
    - Ban (temporary or otherwise)

We don't stick to this exclusively, like sometimes we wait until you're accumulated a few verbal warnings before giving an infraction, and we usually wait until you've had a few infractions before moving to a ban. Steps can be skipped if we feel the behavior deserves it, and so on.

While we're on the subject of collapsible things, would it be possible to add those to received and given reputation?

But that's the whole point of the settings screen really!

Unless you get lots of negative rep and you don't wish to see them.

Is that what's the issue Amaury?

Nah, I just thought it might be helpful for those who would prefer not to scroll through it and view it optionally.

Well without even scrolling you can see all the clickable options from your settings screen, so its not like they're in the way, besides 9/10 times you click on settings it's to see rep.
