Remnants of The Wielders

Sharumix passed her keyblade through Xenree with ease and found herself on the other side. Apparantly, physically harming Xenree didn't have any affect on the heart-stealing process. "Xenree, I'm sorry, but wether it's for Crowley or not, I can't let you do this. These are real people! Not food!" She paused, watching Xenree struggle with pain and effort. "The thing is," she said more to herself than anyone else, "I don't know how to stop it." She looked at her keyblade. Maybe if she kept attacking Xenree, she would eventually have to stop her attack, but she didn't want to hurt Xenree. What if a soul resisted? "Beast!" she yelled. "Try to resist! Stay strong! Don't give up!" Who knew if that would do anything? Still, it was worth a shot.

 

Xenree struggled with Beast and now her anger at Sharumix's lack of knowledge. "It's not food! This is Crowley's plan and my way of rebelling against it! He'd never suspect that I took the souls I owe him and changed the deal." Beast roared louder and Xenree screamed in pain.

 

Sharumix was confused. "Wait, you mean you're not going to give them to Crowley?" She put away her keyblade. Maybe attacking Xenree had been a mistake. "But... are you going to return them... the hearts, I mean... when you're done with them?" She still didn't understand. But she was getting uesd to not understand anything that happened around her.

 

Xenree choked and dropped to her knees, "You think I'm that stupid?! I'm insulted Sharumix... I have no control where they go when I'm finished. They flock to what's home to them." Beast clawed Xenree's chest, tearing her coat, "Return Belle!" Xenree felt her body go numb, "That....I cannot....do."

 

"You mean you're going to steal people's hearts and then just... dispose of them?" Sharumix was getting mad. But she still didn't really know what was going on. She should let Xenree finish here and then let her explain. But she couldn't just let her steal people's hearts. It was like there was a war going on in her mind. Should she try and stop Xenree? Or was Xenree in the right, and borrowing a few hearts didn't matter in the long run? But those hearts did matter. They belonged to real people. But they could stop Crowley, and, if a few lives were lost in the shuffle, it was all for the best, right? But for the best or not, they were destroying the balance between the worlds. But it's not like it was really wrong or anything, right? "SHUT UP!" Sharumix yelled at herself. Suddenly she realized she had yelled that last part out loud. Why did she keep doing things like that? All those thoughts took place in an instant. Then she noticed Xenree drop to her knees. All other thoughts raced from her head. She had done this. To a friend. Again. "WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO ME!?!" She shouted at the sky. Why was she such an idiot? She kept making stupid mistakes that ended up hurting those she cared for. "WHY DO I EVEN TRY!?! WHY DO I EXIST!?! WHY DO I HAVE TO LIVE!?! WHY DID HE HAVE TO CREATE ME!?!" Her head hurt. She was tired. The room was spinning. Everything went dark.

 

Xenree watched Sharumix pass out and the edges of her vision grow dark. "No...not yet..." Wobbling and blood pouring from the claw marks on her chest. More than blood was slipping from her. The souls of this world drifted out of her and reclaimed their forms. "No....this...can't be...happening." Her cheeks took on a tinge of red as she succumbed to the darkness and collapsed on the ground.

Belle woke with Beast and the others worrying over her. "Oh...I'm alright." she looked around and noticed Sharumix and Xenree laying in the floor, "Oh my." She made Beast carry them to a guest room and smiled at Orias, "You come when you're ready." Setting Sharumix on a soft couch outside the room and tucking Xenree into the bed inside the guest room, Belle fretted over her wounds.

 

Waking up slowly, she realized she was on the ground. What had happened? How had she got there? All she remembered was darkness. Slowly, groggily, she started to sit up. "Sora!" She stood as fast as she could and ran to him. He was falling, shining with a bright light. She almost caught him, but he slipped through her fingers. Looking up, she saw the last little bit of his light as it dissapeared high above her. "Sora..." She felt awful, it was like she had let him go. "Are you really...?" She couldn't even bring herself to say that horrible word, 'Gone'. "No! I won't let him go!"

"Sora!" Sharumix opened her eyes and sat up quickly. What had happened? She looked around. She was on a couch in a magnificent hall. Beside her was a door that apparantly led to a guest room. She got up and looked inside. Xenree was on the bed, and Belle was nursing her many wounds. Everything came rushing back. She had attacked Xenree because she hadn't understood anything that was going on. No matter what she did, nothing turned out right. She had a habit of hurting everyone she cared about. Even when she had promised not to interfere. It was about time she decided where her loyalties lay. She couldn't continue to be with Xenree if she kept hurting her, and she knew that as long as she had Sora's memories, she couldn't watch Xenree work and keep her cool. Taking a deep breath, she walked in and stood by Belle. She looked down at Xenree's pale face and made her decision. "I'm sorry for all the damage I caused," she said. She didn't know if Xenree could hear her, but it made her feel better to say it. "I haven't been a very good friend, and I don't want to hurt you again. It's time someone ended this. Good luck with your mission, Xenree. I hope you get better, and I hope you forgive me for my meddling." She turned to Belle and smiled. "Thank you for taking care of my friend here," she said. "I hope you got on her good side." With that said, she opened a dark portal to... well, wherever, and stepped through. She had to find Crowley, and she had to know why she had been created. She just couldn't stay with Xenree anymore. At least for a little while.

Xenree's voice weakly called out to her, "Sharumix....Sora...forgive me. Riku and I have both made the same mistake...even though I told myself not to make it. I gave in to the darkness...it was just so inviting...and the power it offers is....enjoyable. You..have to stop remembering....It's not...yours to figure out. To forget is to remember and to remember is to forget." Xenree swallowed hard and felt Belle press a cold cloth to her head, "Just promise me something....Promise me you...won't go and get yourself killed. Orias wouldn't like that."

 

Sharumix paused. She was already through the portal, so she couldn't see Xenree, but she could still hear Xenree's words. "I promise," she said quietly. "Don't die on me, either." The portal closed and Sharumix looked around. Apparantly, she had traveled back to Twilight Town. The hole in the wall that led to the old haunted mansion was close by. She didn't know why her heart had brought her here, but she decided that the old haunted mansion must hold some answers. But, now that she thought about it, she didn't know if she really wanted to find any answers. Xenree had said it wasn't hers to remember. That to remember was to forget, and the other way around. Still, she had come too far to stop now. With her decision made, she began to walk towards the hole. She pulled out her keyblade, just to be safe. For Xenree's sake.

 

Roxas hurried past the man in the black coat and ran into the mansion. Exploring, patches of darkness blacked out Sharumix's memories. Roxas found himself standing before a white pod, staring at Sora inside. "It looks like...my summer vacation is over."

 

Sharumix had been in the woods, walking to the mansion. When she saw the vision of Roxas, she stopped for a moment. Now why was that memory important? Maybe... maybe she had to find that white room to get her memories back. She began to run to the mansion. She got to the gate, ran through the courtyard, and into the foyer.

 

The man in black flashed before her again and the image crackled to Kairi holding his hand. "Riku...." Sora wore a dumbfounded expression, "Huh? THis is Riku!? But...it can't be." The scene made a 'zzzzt' sound and broke into another, not one of Sora's memories. Riku, as the man in black was now known as sat in a chair in a room with another man wearing red bandages on his face. "I've done as you asked and now I want to know. What is it that you want?" The man chuckled slightly, "Vengence." "Vengence..." Riku echoed. "And now...I've yet to even know your name." Riku pushed off his hood and revealed his face to be of Ansem, Seeker of Darkness'. "Ansem." The man with red bandages laughed, "It's nice to finally meet you...Ansem."

 

Sharumix ran up the stairs and turned to her immediate right. She found a doorway with a library inside. She almost lost her confidence for a moment. She could have sworn that there was a long drop to a metal floor when Xenree had been in here. But then she saw the drawing on the table. She wasn't sure how she knew what to do, but she did. Before long she was in the metallic room behind the library. She was getting more and more excited. What did Riku have to do with whatever was down here? And Ansem? She had to remind herself to be careful. She lifted her keyblade a little higher, and moved on.

 

Roxas stood glaring, Keyblade in hand at the man in red bandages, "Who are you?" "I am nobody...or more formerly called DiZ. A scholar of the likes." Most of the conversation was lost to a loud buzzing noise in the memory. "Perhaps you should give some of that anger to Sora, he's far too nice for his own good." Roxas touched his heart, "No! My heart is my own, no one elses!"

The memory cracked and suddenly Roxas was being jerked upright by 'Ansem', "Can you feel Sora?"

 

Sharumix stopped running. She had come into the computer room. The moniters in the corner were dusty with disuse. She hadn't ever had so many memories in one setting before. She briefly wondered why, but brushed the warnings off and walked up to the computer screens. "Yes," she whispered. "I can feel Sora."

The monitor sprung to life. Axel and Roxas sat on the edge of the Clock Tower and ate their ice cream. "Roxas....do you really have a heart?" Roxas bent his head in thought, "I dunno....but, I don't think the heart is something you can feel."

Sharumix frowned in thought as she gazed at the monitors. Something felt... wrong, somehow. She took a deep breath and went through the computer room into a small hallway. Two small pods were in the corner. She remembered seeing Donald and Goofy here before. She must be getting close to where Sora had been. Who knew what she might find there? As for what she heard in her last vision, about the heart not being something you can feel, well, she didn't know about that. She faced the next door. Inside was the key to her memories. She could almost feel it.

 

A rapid series of sharp clicks sounded and then the image of Roxas trashing a computer just like the one she'd seen before. Things flip-flopped and Sharumix was in a wide, brightly lit room. A man with black hair stood and announced a test called the Mark of Mastery was starting now. "I'm sure...my friend Master Xehanort didn't come all this way to see two pupils miss the mark." Things went black and fadded into a part of Radient Garden. Outside the Crystal Fissure, a man with grey hair, Xemnas, turned around and Donald and Goofy pointed, "It's him!" Sora glared at him, "Xehanort's Nobody!" Xehanort. the name echoed in Sharumix's mind.

 

Orias fell asleep in the corner of the guest room after Beast and Belle had left. He was dreaming of, certain people, and many visions passed through his head. Sora...Keyblade...Heartless...Nobodies...Unversed...Princesses of heart

 

Sharumix stopped before entering what she believed to be the room Sora had slept in. She hadn't remembered about Xehanort in a long time. She had been so intent on finding out about the Sora part of her that she'd forgot about all others. Did she have both hearts within her? That would explain her inner battles between right and wrong. She sighed. What would She find in that room? Did she even want to find whatever it was? Well, wether she liked what she found or not, she simply had to get some answers. Taking a deep breath and holding her keyblade up in defense, she went through the door into the white room.
