How many actually like them? Are the original better? Or do they need a spice to them?

My thoughts are that the originals are usually better. I don't like remixes. They ruin the song for me. Some are okay but I'd rather stick to the normal version.

How about other thoughts on this?

It matters what genre, and such.
I mean; Renard remixes are amazing, along with Mayhem and such.
But something like Kelly Clarkson and her remixes by some nobody remixer, is kinda cheesy.
As I said before, it matters what genre, artist, etc.

Nine Inch Nails remixes are usually fantastic, but that's about all I listen to.

Some are better than the original. I have a LOT of remixes of songs from games and I listen to them more than the originals. Usually when it comes to regular non-game related music...the originals tend to be better.

I usually like remixes. The reason you don't like remixes is that you haven't heard most of the good ones. Seriously, I know remixes that actually made the originals better. Yes, some of them ruin the original, I agree. But most of them are really good.

    It actually depends.
I actually like Linkin Park's Reanimation album, but I love the originals of all the songs (except Forgotten) a lot more than the remix.

It all depends on the actual remix/original.

I hardly ever bother with remixes. When songs get more versions of themselves, things just complicated. I'd use the creativity I have for new material, rather than regurgitating older stuff. Not to say that remixes are always worse, on the contrary, but I can live without them.

Most often times, I'd say the original is by far the better choice, the original intent.

I never bothered with remixes, until I heard the Bayonnetta commercial. The song it had was actually a remix, a dubstep version of a La Roux song. In my opinion, the remix sounds better than the original in this case.

Plus, remixes open the possibility to new things. Of course if they are done with the sense of innovation in mind. I think that remixes should be different takes on a song, yet still retain the quality of the song itself.

    It really depends on genres.
Most electro/house remixes sound good, as well as hip-hop remixes.
I've listened to a few rock remixes, and I'd say that I would stick with the original rock songs.
