Yes and no. It's been under reclamation for some time, so it's really only as derogatory as a person makes it sound.

It's probably an easier call to just not visit the south, full stop. Stay up in the godless north, where we have cold weather and are a touch less conservative.

I wish to forgo this blazing hot desert they call a state and experience more than one season, so take me with you to this cold-hearted paradise.

 

I spent my childhood in a town that is a 20 minutes ride away from the beach. It' s also a hour drive away from the Pyrenees (ski stations palooza) and Spain (moar beaches and stuff). Temperature-wise it' s on the hot side (almost always gets the highest temperatures on the map), though it' s very windy.

I don' t miss beaches, nor snow (got even more of it where I live now), but goddamn I miss skying !
